John left his Dayton area home, just outside of Shelton, on Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 2004 , for a walk and failed to return home. John is reported to be in good health and at the time of his departure. John was wearing only blue jeans and black boots. He has brown hair and blue eyes, and is 5'8" and 170 pounds. He has tattoos on his head, arm, and both elbows. He has scars on his forehead and left hand. He may use the last name Dillon or the alias name Edward A. Guerrero.

On Friday, July 30, 2004 , John Edward Fleshman, age 40, White Male, DOB: January 17, 1964 – 5'08" – 170 lbs, Brown hair, Blue eyes was reported missing. Information gathered during the investigation indicated that John left his Dayton area home, just outside of Shelton , on Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 2004 , for a walk and failed to return home. John is reported to be in good health and at the time of his departure. We were informed that John was wearing only blue jeans and black boots.

When the Mason County Sheriff's Office was advised of John Fleshman's disappearance, a search and rescue operation was initiated in a 50 square mile area surrounding his residence. Along with the Mason County Sheriff's Office, a helicopter from the King County Sheriff's Office, Pierce County German Shepherd Search Dogs, Kitsap County Explorer Search and Rescue, Thurston County Explorer Search and Rescue, Mason County Explorer Search and Rescue, Mason County Mobile Search and Rescue, and Mason County Fire District #16 participated in the search. In all, over 200 volunteers assisted in the search.

The search failed to located the whereabouts of John Fleshman. The Mason County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation into John Fleshman's disappearance and is following up on all leads.
