Deputies search for Colorado man missing out of Leavenworth

A backpack containing clothing and the man's wallet was found on a hiking trail just outside of Leavenworth.

Chelan County Sheriff’s Office is searching for 37-year-old Joshua Dean Griffin, who has been missing since August 2023.

(Griffin was first reported missing out of Colorado in March of 2023. He was found the following June in Wenatchee, where he reportedly found temporary work and stayed for a couple of months until he was reported missing in August.)

In April of 2024, a backpack containing some clothing and Griffin’s wallet with ID and cash was found on a hiking trail just outside of Leavenworth.

A CCSO press release says Griffin, who is 5’7” and 155 pounds, was known by family and friends as someone who walked regularly, including long distances.
