Latoya Elicia Salazar (#MP109811) was last seen on January 21, 2023 in Yakima County, Washington. The circumstance notes on her NamUs state that she was "last seen by family standing near a mini-mart close to the family residence." There is little information on her case.

Latoya was 38 years old at the time of her disappearance. She is listed as being 4'11", 115 lbs, and Hispanic/Latino. She has long, black hair with brown eyes. She has tattoos of siblings' names in between her fingers, has the letter "B" tattooed on her right pinky knuckle and the letter "A" tattooed on her right ring finger knuckle. Her family also believes she has a butterfly on her left forearm, but it is unconfirmed.

She currently has 0 exclusions on her page.

Anyone with information should contact the Yakima Police Department at (509) 575-6200 and her case number is 23Y006581.

Thank you for giving Latoya Salazar a moment of your time.

Yakima court records are not available for public reviewing online, you must make specific requests for documents through the Clerk. However I did check the jail roster for 2022-2023 and she was not listed before or after she was last seen. They don't have records prior to 2022 online. Inmate Lookup | Yakima County, WA

There was an unidentified female found near Interstate 5 in Oregon in August 2023. Due to traumatic injuries and the remains being "partial" the height and weight were not available and she remains unidentified. Age Group Pre 50. Age estimate 20-35 (an enlargement of the forensic approximation that was referenced in Namus is attached for easier viewing with the Linn County Sheriff Department Case number for this unidentified woman along with the Namus file for cross reference.)

I know enough about forensic approximation of remains and modeling that there is a significant margin of error as reconstructions are based on skeletal measurements and artistic interpretation, leading to a level of subjectivity and potential for inaccuraciess. So lthough this seriously resembles the missing woman, IMO, it would not be enough to legally confirm identify, even by family.

Thank you for this! I found a couple of her profiles but not much else. It looks like she wasn't very active up to her disappearance.

Yes, I've submitted Jane to the Doe Network back in February I believe but haven't heard anything. I also wonder why her other photo shows a hijab -- maybe it's based on something they found at the scene but haven't released? Regarding Latoya's tattoos, I wonder if they would have been missing as Jane's remains were partial. What really struck me is the reconstruction and the fact that Jane and Latoya were relatively close to I-5 in Oregon and Washington in their respective cases.
Thanks for your reply!

I read they'd done one of the pictures with a hijab. My thought at the time was that was due to her ethniticy being undetermined (one possibility listed was "Asian") due to the condition of the remains - the artist who did the foresic rendering perhaps thought to try it with the hijab to see if that sparked recognition by someone close to her. Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kuwait, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have a very high percentage of Muslim residents. The Demographics of Islam in Asia - Association for Asian Studies.
