Circumstances of Disappearance:
Schone was last seen in Skykomish, Washington on June 25, 1988. He and a companion were hiking to the lake to go fishing. Schone stopped to talk to some other fishermen they encountered but the companion continued on to the lake. When Schone did not show up after about 45 minutes, the companion hiked back to the car and waited for some time, but Schone never arrived. An extensive search and rescue operation was initiated the following day but Schone was never located. His whereabouts remain unknown.
