I’m A bit late to the party, hopefully it is him but the question about his actions remains: why?

I was hoping he didn’t kill someone else and take their clothes and head north into Canada. The wild animals had their fill and the remains were all scattered. Have to see what the dna says.

A drone spotted a t-shirt that was just like the one TD was wearing. The remains were found 3 quarters of a mile from where the girls were.

Thanks to all for maps, flight data and local perspectives, including a local backyard with four pine trees!

I have long been in the camp of psychotic break given TD's serious mental health challenges, numerous life stressors and possibly some trigger that lit a murderous rage at his campsite. Not forgiving, just my best educated guess to understand.

But as we've learned from recent psychiatric data posted ^^, filicide by someone with severe mental illness will more likely than not end in suicide.

So like others here, whether intentionally taking his life or putting himself in extreme danger hiking up steep, trecherous terrain with a death wish, my second best guess is he caused his death, possibly still in the throws of psychosis.

What a relief for WD!! My heart aches for those poor innocent girls whose lives were taken from them by someone they loved, their father.

As to the "why", I guess we'll never know the answer. Who can even fathom how seriously mentally disturbed people think?

I would like to know if any substances may be still found in his remains, and of what type. I believe there was severe underlying mental illness but also, some substance use that could have worsened it. Travis's movements caught on the video after the car accident don't look normal on the video, but I can't put my finger on it.

I am shocked that his remains were found less than a mile from where the girls were discarded. The shirt was seen by a drone and they then dropped a team there. Was a drone not used that close to original CS to begin with? I appreciate that it is rough terrain, but it just seems odd to me.

I wonder if he immediately killed himself and how. It must have been shortly afterwards, because of the decomposition of the body and the scattering of bones suggesting animal activity. Plus they couldn't positively identify him by sight, after 3 1/2 months he was most likely skeletonized at that point.

I'm heartbroken for WD, but at least she can rest easier knowing TD has been found. May she be able to begin to heal one day at a time. Her loss as a Mother to those precious baby girls is so profound I don't know how one would even begin to.

RIP now Olivia, Eveyln & Paityn. You didn't deserve to leave this world so soon, especially at the hands of the man who should have been your biggest protector.

Not only the feet, but it's not unusual for both the feet and shoes to be missing from the recovered remains of a lost hiker or crash victim previously reported missing!

As a body decomposes, the ankles and feet, which are relatively weak points, can easily separate from the rest of the body, where scavengers are especially known to quickly carry off modern-day (lightweight) trail shoes with the disarticulated joint to feed in their den and/or away from the fallen -- or risk becoming food for larger prey.

For example, Suzanne Morphew, reported missing from Chaffee County, Colorado on Mother's Day 2020, her remains were located in 2023-- minus her feet and shoes. Similarly, the mystery of feet washing up on WA shores was solved.

Feet in shoes have washed up in the Salish Sea for decades. Most cases have been solved, but not Antonio Neill's

Antonio Neill was reported missing Dec. 12, 2016. A boot with his foot was found years later on the shore of Jetty Island in Everett.

May they rest in peace now & forever, and their mother and loved ones and community and LE who worked day & night to find him, to find their path forward in grieving and healing from this terrible tragedy.

P.S. I hope your ill elderly kittie cat will be okay and you have as much time together as possible. I'm with you both in spirit as you care for them. My 22 year old kittie cat passed earlier this year from old age, and it meant the world to us, her human family who loved her so, to be with her during her last days as she prepared for her journey back over the rainbow bridge.
