Additional details on Peggy's disappearance is discussed in these news clippings.

Alexander Borah Welcher / George Nace III, Patricia Colyer, Peggy Wilker, article P1 - Newspapers.com
Clipped from The News Tribune Tacoma, Washington 13 Mar 1987,

''Marvin Nieland’s heart leaped in his chest and his eyes shot wide open at the sight of a woman walking beside a Pierce County road recently. The woman had to be Nieland’s 33-year-old sister, Peggy Wilker of Puyallup, missing since she stormed out of the Tacoma Mall Oct 12 following an argument with her husband. But before Nieland could utter an exclamation his wife also named Peggy said “No that’s not her” “I knew he was thinking it was her” Peggy Nieland said “But I’d seen that woman before too Same hair, same build, she really did look like Peggy, But I never drive the roads but between Puyallup and the Mall anymore without looking alongside the roads”

Alexander Borah Welcher / George Nace III, Patricia Colyer, Peggy Wilker article P2 - Newspapers.com
''Peggy Fern Wilker of Puyallup hasn’t been heard from since she stomped out of the Tacoma Mall Oct 12 1986, following a disagreement with her husband over a purchase. Relatives have held little hope she would be discovered alive because Wilker required five shots of Insulin each day to control her diabetes. Wilker occasionally would become upset about something but generally would show up later sitting in the truck waiting for her husband. This time when she walked out of the Mall near the JC Penney store about 12:30 pm, she never showed up again.''

Missing after a disagreement with her husband.

Did she walk off and meet with foul play? Get hurt and unable to get back to the truck? Or… this time did the argument go too far? Hmm.
