Roy and his wife, Constance "Connie" Merrick, left home to go fishing at a nearby pond and were never seen again. All their possessions were left behind in their camper trailer.

There is nothing about them, not even pics or newspaper clippings that I can find. It's so mysterious. There is a Constance Merrick living in Port Orchard who is of the right age and a Roy Lee Merrick in Bremerton WA who is of the right age.

I'm not finding anything on the disappearance to post; will keep looking. There are some notes in the "legal" sections on newspapers.com from about 1979 forward regarding a gentleman of the same name, appropriate age, location having some criminal accusations/arrests.

The Port Orchard, WA area is surrounded by water as shown in map below:

I believe that the disappearance of Roy and Connie Merrick may be connected to the infamous Mineral WA Tube Sock Murders.

The Merricks went missing in October 1985 two months after Steven Harkins and Ruth Cooper were found murdered and two months before Diana Robertson was found murdered and Mike Riemer went missing.

Also, if you look at the travel path between where Roy and Connie Merrick were last seen and where Diana Robertson and Mike Riemer were last seen, almost directly in the center of that path lies the Kmart store where Crystal Riemer was found wandering the evening of December 12th 1985. If you lived in Port Orchard, WA you would drive right past it on your way home from Mineral, WA.

Their NamUs profiles say they went missing on tribal land. Does this mean they were staying/living on a reservation and could this be a factor in their disappearance?
