Human remains were discovered near White's Island in a slough fed by the Columbia River. They probably arrived by action of current from upriver on the Columbia River. The remains were determined to be a white male, between the ages of 20 and 50. His estimated year of death would have been 2000 to 2002. He had short to medium brown hair and was about 5'11". Near his body was $1.12 in change. The latest-minted coin was from the year 2000; a Maryland quarter A full upper dental plate was found in his front pocket. He was wearing blue jeans (Brittania brand, 36 waist, 30 leg), a dark leather belt (Leegin brand) with a large rectangular Western-style buckle with an inlaid stone marbled like an opal, Fruit of the Loom cotton underwear (size 2XL), a sweatshirt with the San Francisco 49ers logos and the words “National Conference ‘96”, a cotton crewneck T-shirt with knit cuffs, a logo resembling a greyhound, and the word “Greyhound” embroidered on it, tennis shoes that were white with blue accents (size 11, Spaulding brand), and white cotton socks.
