What about the fight between Hailey and her mom?

I think that the fight happened and Hailey threatened to run away to Clint's house and that is what Billie meant when she said she needed to "ease her mind". I think that she was worried that Hailey may have left in the middle of the night.

I am not sure if that is what she was worried about. She said she didn't 'touch her' to make sure it was her. That sounds to me like she was easing her mind about whether Hailey was still alive or not, imo.

I think she woke up with a heavy hangover after a long night of partying, remembered the intense fight, and wondered if her Daughter was okay or not. imo

I personally believe that there was a fight..and i also believe that if Hailey is found someone will come forward about a possible reason for it.

I think there may have been an argument, but I don't think it was some big blow out fight.
I remember when my daughter was 13. It didn't take much for us to "fight". During those years, there were a lot of them, but not once did I ever put my hands on her.
And every morning, when I leave for work, I check on both my boys(19&14). By checking on them, I mean I open the door to make sure they are there and I announce I am leaving for work, have a good day, love ya, bye.
Sometimes I wait for a response and sometimes if I'm running late, I shut the door and leave. I can think of maybe ten times I've physically touched them to wake them up on my way out the door.
Now this is when they are not in school as Hailey was not in school during the time she disappeared. During school days, I make sure the 14 year old is up and out of bed before I leave the house so he doesn't miss his bus.

That's how I do things too, Evan's mom.

If one of my girls disappeared after I had peeked in on her one morning, I would probably be beating myself up about not going in and touching her or hearing her voice.

Two of my teens are pretty average as far as blow-ups, and one of them has had me wondering if I would be able to make it through her teenage years without losing my mind. They are all very good kids, great grades, church, no drugs, no drinking, no sneaking out or boy problems, but in my experience, all teens fight with their moms, especially when they first realize that they've grown a tiny bit taller or stronger than Mom! Some Dads are good at stepping up and laying down the law...no disrespecting Mom is allowed and both parents are a team. I doubt that Billy had any such support from Clint. The fact that Billy had the boyfriend living with them probably made the disrespect worse. MOO

I'm not saying that Billy didn't make some really bad choices. I don't know if she knows what happened to Hailey or not. So far, none of Billy's shortcomings have convinced me she is a murderer, but that could change as more is known. I just don't think that a fight with a teenager who's parents are divorced is strange at all, especially when it's about who to live with. That's pretty normal, IMO.

Thank you, Whisperer...

Maybe the fight info is so sketchy because a fight would give Hailey a motive for running away so it's good to have that floating around, but a fight might also mean a physical altercation and it's not good to have that floating around.

I think the "I didn't touch her" statement was made so that later on the timeline of when Hailey went missing could be questionable. In other words, Billie peeked in and "thought" she saw Hailey in the morning BUT she didn't touch her so who knows if that was even Hailey that she saw and not just a pillow under the covers. I think this is to muddy the waters so that it's possible that Hailey actually disappeared after the 10pm sighting where she was watching tv. Therefore if Bille "actually" only saw her the night before then Hailey could have run away over night or who knows because Billie doesn't know when she last saw her. This gives her an "out" so that she can be as unhelpful as possible with the timeline all while APPEARING to be co-operative.

That makes perfect sense actually. If they were the big true crime fans, they'd know about things most "normal" people wouldn't: stomach contents, liver temperature, etc., i.e., all the tests used to identify time of death.

So, if this speculation is correct, one might suspect that Hailey was indeed already deceased by 6:00 a.m. that morning and the last description of "Hailey" by BD is filled with a fudge factor.

Consider then this scenario, as many have theorized. Hailey dies that evening, either by drug overdose, or other devious means. The later story is she is missing. Could a JB Ramsey scenario then might have played out? Her body "staged" to indicate assault or some other means of death. Perhaps those responsible placed her someplace they thought she would be found at quickly, but for whatever reason, she hasn't been found.

I have always thought BD's explanation of not touching Hailey was odd to say the least, considering the pictures taken of Hailey's room, the mattress was on the floor, no top sheet, no bottom sheet, no blanket, no bedspread, no comforter and no pillows in sight. So did BD look at the mattress on the floor or the set of box springs on the bed frame???? Where are Hailey's bed coverings/linens? DB did state she gave a bed sheet to LE but it was December, what about the rest of the bedding?
