This theory on celebrity attractiveness I read:

We all know about how some women are very popular w/straight men, and have that girl next door look, such as Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Watson, and Emma Stone. I have noticed that a lot of women seem to have issues with this. I think that some women see themselves as being more attractive, yet they don't have millions of suitors.

It seems like women are more accepting of men liking women like Angelina Jolie because they know they can't compete. I think a lot are threatened by the girl next door look.
