GUILTY WI - Bill Thao, 13 mos, fatally shot, Milwaukee, 27 Dec 2014

The 21-year-old Milwaukee man charged in the shooting death of toddler Bill Thao was bound over for trial Thursday during a preliminary hearing. Darmequaye D. Cohill, whose bail was set at $500,000 last weekend, faces charges of first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, as a party to the crime, in connection with the death of the 13-month-old boy.

Bill was shot on Dec. 27 while playing with his toys in the living room of a house in the 6400 block of N. 73rd St. He was taken to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, where he later died from his injury.

Milwaukee police say he was the intended target of the shooter whose bullets killed 13-month-old Bill Thao. 19-year-old Kwesen Sanders is facing drug charges, and he appeared in court on Tuesday, January 13th for his preliminary hearing. Sanders faces two counts of conspiracy to commit the manufacture/delivery of heroin (three grams or less).

A criminal complaint filed against Sanders says he was the intended victim of the gunfire that killed Bill Thao. Documents show the gunman who was trying to shoot Sanders for stealing his drug customers shot up the wrong house.

22-year-old man was found guilty Thursday of killing 13-month-old Bill Thao while shooting up the wrong house in a dispute with another drug dealer last December.

Darmequaye Cohill was convicted of first-degree reckless homicide, and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, both as a party to a crime. He faces up to 471/2 years in prison at sentencing Jan.14.

Darmequaye Cohill got 50 years. My heart breaks for this family. It just isn't enough.
