Skull without bottom jaw was found in a box at an old dump site off of an ATV trail in 2018. Skull was moved to another property, reported in November of 2021. Skull does not match any open cases in the area. Skull is possibly 30-50 years old.

Oneida County working to determine origin of skull found in town of Cassian, no match to open cases

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department is working with an anthropologist to determine the origin of a human skull found outside in the town of Cassian.

Two possibilities:

March 11, 1977 - Michelle Elaine Meiser (MP20954). 22 years old, missing from St. Paul, MN, of Native (Chippewa) decent. Few details available in her case.

She went missing 3 1/2 hours drive/230 miles from where the skull was found.

November 1, 1980 - Lisa Lynn Ninham (MP95010). 17 years old, missing from Menominee Reservation near Keshena, WI. Little is known about her case.

She went missing about a 2 hr drive/100 miles from where the skull was found. She's the strongest match I can find.

From the article in the original post they said “DNA could be extracted from the skull if it is ground-down, however, if the origin is Native American that process is not acceptable.” So that sounds like they aren’t sure if it’s Native American. How can they even tell if female or male?
