Circumstances of Recovery: On Sunday August 12, 1973, at approximately 1:30pm, a fisherman went to re-fuel his outboard boat motor when he discovered an infant wrapped in a piece of paper mill felt within one (1) to three (3) feet of water, near a boat slip / boathouse. This area was located off the High Falls Flowage (Peshtigo River) near Twin Bridge, off County Road X in the Town of Stephenson, Marinette County, Wisconsin. The Marinette County Sheriff's Office responded to investigate. A subsequent autopsy was completed and it was determined that the infant was a newborn that was alive at birth and died of asphyxiation (drowning). It was also noted that the infant was full term.

Here is another disturbing case of an infant being dumped somewhere. I do think that this could have been a teen pregnancy, or someone who did not want kids but got pregnant. Maybe it was some illegitimate child from an affair and they did not want the spouse to find out? Just speculating on what could have happened. I hope this case does get solved in the future.
