A Waukesha teenager has been charged with felony counts after his mother and stepfather were found dead last week in their home following a welfare check.

Nikita Casap, 17, is facing one count of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and one count of theft of movable property (special facts), according to a criminal complaint filed March 3.

Two family members confirmed the victims as 51-year-old Donald Mayer and his wife, Tatiana Casap.

There are tons of details in this article which I'll try to sum up.

February 28- Donald's mother requests a welfare check. Donald and Tatiana's bodies were found with gunshot wounds.

Flock camera data showed Donald's vehicle was last recorded on February 23, Tatiana's on February 11.

February 23- Neighbor saw son driving Donald's VW.
Another neighbor hadn't seen the family's little black dog.

Location data showed the son's device leaving the city and traveling through Iowa, Illinois, Colorado and Kansas.

February 28- Son is stopped in Kansas for running a stop sign. Inside the vehicle (belonging to Donald) were .357, ammo, spent casings and Donald and Tatiana's driver's licenses. Gun was owned by Donald.

We have seen too too many of these cases of double parricide. I have been around for enough years to "see" so many different psychologies of parents and children. One parent (usually the mother) supporting the child....but silently out of fear of the father. One of the parents (sometimes a stepparent being a real agresser) .... sooo many combinations.

But there is a psychology of a teenage child (usually male) that seems void of any emotions. I dunno..it is really troublesome.

The grandmother (stepfather's mother in Massachusetts) was the one who called in a welfare check...and she stated this about this particular son:

"I would try and talk to him – but he was very shy, quiet. Very introverted," Judith said. "I ask him a question and I would get a very monosyllable answer."

But where was the school here???

Why did it take the school two weeks to sound the alarm ?
Even if the murderer texted or emailed the school with an excuse (maybe pretending to be Tatiana, his mother ? Idk.); some schools will have the welfare officers checking by the next day or so.
The photo of Nikita at the link below looks like he is dead behind the eyes.
Such a vile atrocious act.

We don't know what was going on at home, but I'm willing to extend the deceased the benefit of the doubt for now ... as they can't defend themselves.
A little early to say, but some perps are almost beyond redemption after showing the world who they are and I'm thinking NC may be one of them.

In regard to the welfare check, the complaint states Nikita Casap previously had perfect attendance at school but had not been present for two weeks, and no excused absences had been provided to the school.
