Circumstances of Disappearance On December 10, 1993 deputies were contacted to check on the welfare of a 43-year-old man named Kim M. Klimek at his residence in the Village of Wales. Klimek’s house appeared fine although there was no sign of him or his truck. There was evidence that he was packing for a planned trip to Las Vegas and the tickets were found at the residence; however, he never made the trip. His mailbox indicated there was mail from as far back as November 8, 1993. During the investigation, it was found that his truck was parked at Mitchell Airport, but there was no record of him taking any flights. No one has heard from Kim Klimek since 1993. There were significant events that occurred within Kim’s family, which they believe, would have resulted in him contacting family members, but that did not happen.

There's not a TON of info out there and I cannot find a photo of him for sure. Please help me figure out his high school.

born Sept 24, 1950, he was a self-employed drywaller [dba Perfection Drywall]. I cannot discern his parents yet. Anyway, I found an old deleted article on the sheriff of Waukesha's site (Wayback Machine) that stated the family believed he was running away to Vegas to start over. For some reason the sheriff has removed all three still-open cold cases from their site. I'm going to attach the article shortly. He was in a small amount of tax debt but police don't believe it was enough to make him run and start over. They said they exhausted the Vegas angle.

The only comparison exclusions are four in VA. None in WI.

He had an open worker's comp case it looks like he lost.

Kim Michael Klimek resided in Wales, Wisconsin and was last heard from on November 7th, 1993.

Deputies were contacted on December 10th, 1993, to check on the welfare of Kim at his residence in the Village of Wales. According to deputies, his house appeared in order, but there was no sign of him or his truck. It appeared that he was packing for a planned trip to Las Vegas and the tickets were found in the residence. However, Kim never made the trip.

No one has heard from Kim since 1993. Despite significant events occurring in Kim’s family, which his family believes, would have resulted in contact from him, he has not been seen or heard from.

Kim is a white male, 5’11”-6’0”, and 195-205 pounds. He has blond/strawberry hair and green eyes. He has a tattoo of unknown design on his left shoulder.

IMO, If he was in debt to the IRS for a quarter mil, and he was known to gamble large sums of money, there's a good chance he owed other not-so-nice entities money that he borrowed from them. Even the detectives are concerned foul play was involved.

It would be interesting to see how long his vehicle was parked at the airport. And he left his plane tickets behind?

Since he left at least $8,000 in his account, maybe someone he owed money to made it appear he left for Vegas and parked his vehicle at the airport. Did the accountant recognize his voice on the phone? Anyone could have called saying he was Kim. The chances of an accountant being authorized to access someone's bank account two years after they had gone missing is pretty slim. His property was already going through foreclosure in 1994. I'd think his bank account would have also been frozen or flagged. Why would he blow his cover story by calling his accountant?
