Search continues for Racine County woman missing for more than 4 months

The Racine County Sheriff’s Office says they will continue searching for Rickard on Monday around 11 a.m. with the Kansasville Fire Department.

Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said in a news release that, “due to the time of year, foliage is reduced, crops have been cultivated, and visibility is greater. The Sheriff’s Office remains committed to bringing closure to the family of Lynn Rickard”.

The Racine County Sheriff’s Office and Kansasville Fire Department picked up their search on Tuesday morning, December 5th for Lynn Rickard in the Kansasville area.

In a Facebook post, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office indicated it has utilized multiple Fire and EMS resources throughout the region. The search has also been supplemented by Wisconsin Emergency Management, the Civil Air Patrol, Wisconsin State Patrol and Flight for Life.

Sheriff Christopher Schmaling stated in the post, “The Sheriff’s Office remains committed to bringing closure to the family of Lynn Rickard.”

Authorities say Lynn Rickard walked away from her Kansasville home in Racine County on the morning of June 25, 2017. She left without her oxygen tank and authorities believed she also didn't have any clothes or shoes.

Details of Disappearance
Rickard was last seen in Kansasville, Wisconsin on June 25, 2017. She is believed to have left her home during the night via her living room window, apparently unclothed; her husband stated he thinks she was in a disoriented state and possibly frightened.

Her footprints were tracked into a marshy area before they disappeared. She was last seen walking westward through a field half a mile from her home. She has never been heard from again.

An extensive search of the area turned up no indication of Rickard's whereabouts, although authorities believe she is still somewhere locally. She had been married for 22 years by the time of her disappearance, and her family stated that other than her health issues, she had no problems at home. Her case remains unsolved.

Bumping for Lynn who apparently is still considered missing, but with extensive dependence on oxygen I can't imagine she is still with us. Today is four years she was said to have been acting paranoid mentally and to have left her home, seen walking through a a field. Feel bad for her family and hope they can have some closure.

Lynn Rickard was 59 years old when she went missing from her home, Dover, WI, on June 25th, 2017.

Lynn was dependent on an oxygen tank which was not with her when she went missing. Lynn suffers from mental illness. The doctors took her off of her usual anti anxiety medication due to a medical procedure and it was causing some paranoia and disorientation.

Lynn was last seen walking naked towards a field west of her home at about 7 am the morning that she was reported missing. Police were able to track her footprints in the marsh before they had disappeared.

The search for Lynn was the largest for a missing person in the local area history. The search had more than 100 first-responders, tracking and cadaver K-9s and drones. After several weeks, the case had gone dormant with no leads or information. “The search for Lynn (Rickard) lasted several days with every tip lead being exhausted,” Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said. “It has always been and remains our focus to bring closure to the Rickard family, and I hope and pray that some day soon we will be able to do just that.”

Lynn's daughter said that prior to her mother's disappearance, they talked on the phone several times a day. She states "I know shes out there" and continues the search and has now hired a Private Investigator to find her mother.

Lynn is 5'3, 150lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a linear scar on her lower abdomen. She would now be 62 years old.
