Wisconsin man sentenced to 60 years for abduction, sexual assault of missing girl – Twin Cities
A Superior man was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison Friday after he was found guilty by a jury of several felony child sexual assault charges.
In August 2015, Diehl drove to the state of Virginia and picked up a 14-year-old girl he met on the internet and brought her to Hermantown, Minn., and later to Wisconsin. Her parents immediately reported her missing. The girl wasn’t found until late September 2015 when she called her mother; she was recovered that same day.
A search of Diehl’s home, which had no functioning utilities, showed evidence of sexual abuse and child pornography. The girl reported Diehl sexually assaulted her at least 50 times.
