Milwaukee police are searching for a cognitively delayed man who has the potential to become violent with strangers.

Robert A. Carter, 58, has been missing from his residence in the 8000 block of West Crawford Avenue on Milwaukee's southwest side since 9 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Police describe Carter as white, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.
He was wearing a black Nike hooded sweatshirt, a brown or tan flannel button-up shirt, dark jeans and dark-colored boots.
He also has a parrot tattoo on the right side of his neck, police said.
Carter is cognitively delayed, has a tendency to get angered easily and can become violent with strangers, police said.
He is also on several medications that are critical to his well being, police said.
