Altoona, WI (WAOW) — Officials issuing a green alert for missing Altoona veteran Shaun Wischmann.

The alert says family is concerned for the welfare of the 36-year-old after statements he made to them Monday. Family says he suffers from PTSD from his service overseas and also depression.

They believe he may be traveling to North Dakota and may have a handgun.

He’s described as a white man, 6’02”, 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

A green alert is issued for missing veterans.

A lot of people have guns who do not "qualify" as per the state and federal laws governing the sale of guns. Getting them from gun shows and off the street is a whole different story. And, who is to say he didn't have them prior to having his mental issues that he now is suffering from.
