Sentenced for murder: a Fond du Lac husband learned his fate Tuesday after he was convicted of killing his wife inside a police station.

Authorities say Jeffrey Asbury beat his wife Sherry to death in the lobby of the Fox Lake Police Department.

Jeffrey Asbury said he would trade his own life to bring his wife back, but he admits he killed her, and after listening to emotional statements for her family, Asbury got a tough sentence.

Family members described Asbury's heavy cocaine use. His lawyer admitted Asbury was going through drug withdrawal at the time of the murder. [And some think that using drugs is a victimless crime???]

Judge Andrew Bissonnette gave Asbury 30 years in prison and 15 years on release.

I've read advice to drive to the nearest police station if being stalked and followed, but some say to be very careful of this because often there's no one there in the lobby.
