She obviously knew she could not care for the child and she should have handled it better but I sure am glad she didnt hurt him or worse.
I hope the baby can be put up for adoption and I hope LE doesnt do anything too rash to the mother because that is the sort of thing that makes other mothers in her predicament do even worse things. If mothers are afraid of getting into trouble then they do even worse things like getting rid of a child and pretending someone took it. We dont want that either.
There needs to be more avenues for mothers that decide they cannot handle motherhood. We need to help them and not make them fearful of the law. This is an area that needs a lot of work IMO.
