Wild Card Witnesses - Trial Week 2 and Beyond

Lee is a worry to me. Hopefully, he won't do his usual clown act on the stand. No "I love you" to ICA. Fist pumping CMA routine he did at the memorial still sickens me. He may very well admit to all of ICA's accusations....I don't trust him. Especially after his fiance made her gag inducing statement of ICA having an awesome relationship with Caylee. Really, Mallory? Really?

Maybe that was Mallory's way of signaling to KC & the defense that she'll play play ball and say all the right things if they don't go after LA like they did George. Mallory has to be disgusted with the allegations against Lee. Good grief they work at the same place, how awkward and stressful to have co-workers whispering behind their back.

Good question.

I think it might not be considered hearsay because it is something that George said directly to her (and the defense will contend it was based on his personal knowledge, rather than something someone told him and he passed on). And, George is available to confirm or deny it.

I bet the state will object on the basis of hearsay when Jose poses the question. Interesting to see which way it goes. Even if the objection is sustained, Baez will have put it out there...
Krystal H would not be allowed to testify as to what GA said to her. JB could cross examine GA and ask him if he told KH Caylee's death was an accident. JB could then put KH on the stand, establish they were personal friends and that GA confided in her. JB could fashion his questions such that his point is made without KH stating what GA said.

Another thread was just started based on news that Lee now wants to present in the courtroom. If he wants to be there for Caylee and his parents, I understand. If he wants to be there for Casey at this point, I think it's incriminating. I'm very curious about Lee's alliances...

RK isn't on either sides witness list at this point I thought. RC, well I just put her in the same place as the 30 TES searchers who were going to say that the area off Suburban was dry and Caylee wasn't there.
Between now and these folks testifying if they do at all, we have forensics and plenty of them for the DT to worry about. That and their client who may melt down at any moment.

I'm not sure if Roy Kronk is on the witness lists, but Baez did say in his opening statement that we will hear from Kronk's son about his dad bragging he'd found Caylee before she was officially discovered. If Baez puts Kronk Jr. on the stand, guessing that Roy Kronk would be called by the state to dispute his son's contentions. Will be interesting to see how it plays out..

If the state sticks with it's initial strategy, I think we'll hear from the forensic folks and LE after most of the other witnesses because they have been going in chronological order since June 15 2008. That could change though...

How would it be hearsay if George told her directly "it was an accident that snowballed out of control". She isn't saying that someone told George that and then he relayed that to her; she is saying that George HIMSELF told her that. Perhaps my reasoning is flawed?

Perhaps there are more flaws to this whole scenario concerning miss crystal. Since I don’t believe in coincidence, the fact that crystal’s sister was locked up the same time and the same place as ICA and was involved in passing notes with the inmate makes me more than a little suspicious of the entire arrangement of all the characters involved. I realize this sounds vague but this whole crystal thing looks like it was a planned diversion or distraction to help the inmate.

I really am not concerned. I believe that Lee will get on the stand and tell the truth just as Mallory did. Mallory testified to what she witnessed. It doesn't mean that ICA did not kill her daughter. History tells us that it happens all the time. Too many children die at the hands of very good and loving mothers. Sickening.

In any case the O.J. trial and it's verdict were from a time where there was much contention and negativity towards law enforcement due to the Rodney King beating, and the following riots that occurred. Add in the fact that OJ did in fact have a dream team of lawyers that he paid major $$$. His DT was allowed to not only file for venue change but to also shop for his jury. Judge Ito really screwed that trial! ICA's DT led by JB attempted this exact strategy, but HHJBP saw right through them and SHUT IT DOWN PRONTO. The only similarity between the two trials is the media exposure and interest.

In the end KH will not be of much benefit imo to this DT theory. This theory or strategy has more holes than a piece of rotten swiss cheese! IMHO this jury is seeing a very clear picture of ICA. Her lies are not the sort that a person who is suffering ptsd experience. I believe this jury will see it clearly and once the state gets all of the evidence in they will make the right decision. LWOP is fine by me. I just do not want her to ever see the light of day again from behind prison walls.

~ But, why would George even say such a thing back then!? I don't get it. Apparently then... Caylee was kidnapped! OMG in Heavan.
thought: did caylee drown in the bathtub that night?

2. Cindy Anthony: [/U] Her first day of testimony definitely helped the state, imo. She dispelled Baez's conention that she left the ladder to the pool attached. She sympathetically and honestly chronicled the the first 2 weeks of detailed lies told to her by Casey after June 15th. But, her 911 calls are surely coming up when she resumes testifying on 6/1/11. Will she support her "dead body smell" in Casey's car contention or will she support her later contention that it was "rotten pizza" and she exaggerated to get the LE's attention? When Baez cross-examines her, I bet he will ask her "why wasn't George calling Casey; what was George doing?"... In her first day of testimony, Linda Drake did not ask Cindy anything about George's attempts or knowledge in trying to get ahold of Casey. The defense isn't gunning for Cindy at this point; they are gunning for George. Cindy's cross-examination is going to be key, imo.

I thought CA was more on the state side when the picture of Caylee was up on her monitor, her demeanor changed when they took it down (at her request).. not just less upset but seemingly less "real" on CA's part. It wouldn't be right to keep a picture up on her monitor, but I hope the state gets some photos printed up of Caylee and keeps them prominently displayed on a stand or something in the courtroom during CA's testimony. I think CA needs Caylee to be watching her when she testifies, to counteract ICA's manipulative stares....
