Actor Wilford Brimley, pitch man for Quaker Oats, dead at 85

Wilford Brimley, the mustachioed actor whose folksy style made him a staple on the big screen, TV shows and commercials, died Saturday at the age of 85, his manager said.

The Salt Lake City native died in an intensive care unit in St. George, Utah, manager Lynda Bensky said. He had been on dialysis and suffered multiple medical issues, she said...

I enjoyed Brimley's performances in Absence of Malice and The Firm. RIP

I loved him....We had a good friend who favored him. Every time we went to Las Vegas he had people ask if he was Wilfred Brimley.

RIP Mr. Brimley

I loved him too. He was such a great actor and he came off as trustworthy (to me anyway), like he was everyone’s grandpa.

RIP Mr. Brimley.
