Wisconsin woman missing since 1962 found alive in undisclosed location

TL : DR - A 20-year-old wife and mother of two, whose husband was known to be abusive, collected her paycheck from the factory where she worked, boarded a bus, and never contacted anyone, not even her children, again. People on Facebook are being awfully judgy, but really, at her time and place, she probably felt she had no other options, and most likely intended to send for the children later, assuming she hadn't made some kind of provision for them.

She does not want contact with her old family, or any information released about her life now, and really, this must be respected. She had married this man when she was 15 years old, most likely pregnant and/or trying to escape an unhappy family of origin. I hope she's had a good life in the meantime.

IMO, I thought it interesting that the detective glossed over the fact that a trusted adult woman took a child she was babysitting for across state lines without parental permission and used drugs in the child's presence right before they took the bus from Madison to Indianapolis and then endangered the 14 year old girl by leaving the child alone at a bus stop in a strange city while she took off. That showed very poor judgement.

In most jurisdictions, there is no statute of limitations for kidnapping, especially when it involves serious harm or death, or when it involves minors. This...
