A 57-year-old woman has been arrested for investigation of residential burglary, accused of trying to sneak into her neighbor's house through the doggie door. The woman was arrested early Wednesday, police Sgt. John Kruse said. The homeowner said he was awakened about 2 a.m. by a barking dog. As he was checking the house, he discovered the woman holding a hammer and trying to get through the pet door, Kruse said.
The man opened his back door and confronted the woman, who asked for her hammer back, Kruse said. She had dropped it inside the house.
