- On 7/10/2018, Krishna Mahadevan-Prasad was assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord (greater Seattle area).
- On the morning of 7/24/2018, Krishna Mahadevan-Prasad checked into a Renton motel.
- Later on 7/24/2018, video surveillance shows Krishna Mahadevan-Prasad knocking on another door at the Renton motel and entering the room. He was only in the room for three minutes.
- Later still on 7/24/2018, an unidentified 38-year-old woman was found dead in the Renton motel room Krishna Mahadevan-Prasad was seen entering and leaving. Her body was mutilated post-mortem.
- On 7/25/2018 at 3:42 a.m., Krishna Mahadevan-Prasad shot at two cars while being stopped in traffic waiting for the Hood Canal bridge to open. He then killed himself.
