Colombia (AP) - With a flowing cotton dress, a yellow sunflower pinned in her hair and newly dyed red hair to match her bright lipstick, you might say the beauty pageant contestant representing Cell Block 7 was dressed to kill. Indeed, prosecutors said Luisa Mateus and another female assassin calmly gunned down two men in a contract hit in a Bogota cafe a year ago.
On Thursday, the 22-year-old Mateus, whose murder trial is still pending, was one of seven contestants in the Miss Congeniality pageant at the medium-security Buen Pastor women's prison. Judging by the raucous screams of her fellow prisoners, she was an early favourite.
