I found this John Doe while searching on the Unidentified WIki. I cant find this John Doe on Namus, Doe Network, or any online databases. I also cant find a thread for him here.​

Discovered April 22, 1970​

Location New Cumberland, West Virginia​

Sex Male​

Race White​

Cause of Death Beating​

Circumstances Hancock County John Doe was a male found in the Ohio River in New Cumberland, West Virginia at 10:00 AM on April 22, 1970. His cause of death was homicide by beating based on his fracture skull. He was buried at the Three Springs Cemetery in Weirton, West Virginia on April 28,1970.​

Found these two, both of which reference this gentleman, I believe. Will note that I have heard of cases before where bodies were inadvertently "dragged/snagged" by tow barges and taken up/down the river. Map below of --- New Cumberland --- with Ohio River separating West Virginia and Ohio, and in close proximity to Pennsylvania.

Beckley Post-Herad, 23 Apr 70, pg 1 hard to imagine another UID being located at same date, same place. This article provides additional details regarding his discovery.
