WESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man charged with murder escaped Monday from a psychiatric hospital in northern West Virginia, West Virginia State Police say.

Imo he obviously had help of some kind. And I'm annoyed he was even there in the first place to even have the chance to escape.

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man charged with murder who escaped a psychiatric hospital in northern West Virginia earlier this week was captured late Wednesday night in Harrison County, West Virginia State Police say.

A Burgettstown man convicted of killing a West Virginia man was sentenced to life in prison with no chance for parole.

Rocco Zuccaro, 29, of 33 Harmon Creek Road, Smith Township, was sentenced Tuesday in Brooke County Circuit Court. He was found guilty of first-degree murder in July following a four-day jury trial.

The Supreme Court said the trial judge correctly denied the attempt by Zuccaro, of Burgettstown, to raise allegations that 30-year-old Jason Pratz sold guns and drugs, exposing him to unknown dangerous people who killed him.

Zuccaro's attorney said the state did not have enough evidence to prove his client premeditated the attack.

In a statement released by the court, the justices ruled the evidence was, in fact, sufficient.

Zuccaro will serve the rest of his life sentence in prison without parole.
