Child pornography indictment details hundreds of 'disturbing' videos found on man's phone

A 21-year-old St. Albans man has pleaded not guilty Thursday to a charge of possessing material visually portraying a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct

LeoAntonio Smith Jr. was directly indicted earlier this month on that charge and was brought in to court on Thursday on a capias warrant. Hewas taken into custody by the U.S. Marshall Fugitive Taskforce and Kanawha County deputies Oct. 11.

21-year-old, Leo Antonio Smith was apprehended on Friday, October 11, 2024, by the US Marshall Fugitive Taskforce and Kanawha County deputies. Smith was wanted after a Kanawha County Circuit Court Judge issued a capias for his immediate arrest. Detectives with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office have reason to believe that Smith was involved in other crimes here in Kanawha County where victims or witnesses have been reluctant to come forward. If you have been victimized or have information about additional crimes involving Mr. Smith, you are urged to come forward and contact KCSO Detectives. Mr. Smith is currently held in South Central Regional Jail with no bond. Contact Detective C.A.
