Story I read was that family members saw the car at reserve and drove it back home. Makes no sense since he would have no car if he came back from hiking.
It is possible that the parents now concerned because it’s been too long that he’s been gone and not in contact (yes, in some way serves them right) Also, he had to have been in bad state of mind with all that’s happening so they are even more concerned and have reason to report possible harm to himself.
It’s also possible they are lying. Giving him cover while he is elsewhere away from the heat. I think there will be less media focus on them once it is established BL is not at house.

IMO, he was never at the reserve to begin with.

My big question on the tiktok account, who offers $200 for a 30-40 mile drive? That's like 10 times more than getting an Uber. Makes zero sense.

If I offered a short ride to someone and they offered $200 bucks, I would be freaked out.

If his parents showed up at the search site it would be a media frenzy and distract from the search. Even if they wanted to be there my guess is that police would have asked them not to be.

The cool thing about a drive-by video like the one taken of the van at Spread Creek Campground, is that if you take screen shots of the video several frames apart you get a stereo pair of images. If you're good at doing the cross-eyed thingy, you get a nice 3D effect. I was hoping it would help me figure out what was on top of the book behind the van, but it still eludes me. Oh well.

The sandals if they are that ...look pretty big. maybe BLs and the book thing...now I don't see glasses etc...so maybe glass case.

If Brian has hurt himself, and is not technically a suspect right now, do we think this fact would be enough to make him a suspect and secure a warrant for all his devices and warrants to social media, google, et al?

I think if he hurts himself and he’s not a suspect this should be enough to make people reconsider this sort of mob mentality regarding a situation and people we don’t even know. I think LE might have (should have?) already been able to secure a search warrant.

I doubt it. There is dispersed camping all over the mountain west. Generally not a problem. In fact, my ranger friend says it's the very least of their problems usually.
