Authorities in Carteret County have arrested a Wilmington man for an 18-month string of unusual burglaries in which they say he stole clothes and shoes belonging to teenage boys.
A large mound of clothes and rows of shoes filled the Carteret County Sheriff's Department's squad room as Schroeder made his first court appearance on Monday. Investigators say they've never seen anything like it.
Police say they believe once Schroeder was done with the clothes, he packed them in a Morehead City storage unit.
