Zebb has scars between his ring and middle fingers on both hands. He wears contact lenses.
Zebb left his job at WalMart in Asheville, North Carolina at 9:00 pm on January 2, 2000. He met a friend, Robert Jason Owens in the parking lot. Zebb planned to look at a car he was considering purchasing. Owens said he was accompanying Zebb, and they drove separate cars to the location. They were both seen purchasing sodas from a gas station about 9:15 pm.
Owens told authorities Zebb flashed his lights just prior to 9:30 pm. They pulled over and Zebb said he had received a page. He stated Zebb drove away to make a phone call, returned about 10 minutes later, and rear-ended Owens' vehicle. Zebb apologized and said he could not look at the vehicle that evening as planned. He then drove away. He has never been heard from again.
Owens was treated for a head injury and broken rib he claimed to have gotten during another unrelated accident several hours after Zebb disappeared. Owens also called WalMart on January 4 to say that Zebb was ill and would not be in to work that day. After giving his initial statement about Zebb's disappearance, he refused to cooperate further.
Zebb's vehicle was discovered abandoned two weeks later. A live puppy and several other odd items were discovered, none of which belonged to Zebb.
Authorities believe foul play is involved in Zebb's disappearance. A female friend of his was involved in an abusive relationship, and Zebb felt he was also in danger because of his relationship with her. He told one co-worker that someone had threatened his life. No charges have been brought against anyone, and police believe more than one person was involved. His case remains unsolved.
