On 13 October 2017, a 41-year-old Polish man named Wojciech went missing in the Zeewolde area. He had only been in the Netherlands for a few days. In early 2018, his coat with his passport inside was found in a forest near Flediteweg. Wojciech's family last had contact with him on 12 October 2017 and has been searching for him ever since. Wojciech Slomiany is from Rzeszów (Poland). He came to the Netherlands to work in dairy production in Lelystad. After only two days, he called his brother to say he was returning to Poland. Wojciech has been missing ever since. Wojciech had worked in the Netherlands twice before.
Search in Zeewolde forest
The police investigated this disappearance in 2017 and 2018, but did not find Wojciech. Almost eight years later, the case was reviewed and it was decided to search for the missing Wojciech once again in the area of forest where his coat was found. On Friday 21 November 2025, a large team, including the Veterans Search Team, conducted a search.
