Australia Australia - William Tyrrell Disappeared While Playing in Yard - Kendall (NSW) #78

Quite possible, however they did also state it would be in the December Tranche …. (As opposed to November) which IMO is a little specific …

I guess time will tell … but agree that nothing is ever certain in this case …

IMO
I doubt the tranche plans are so far advanced that dates have been assigned to each witness. I don't think there have been any directions hearings yet since the postponement?

Yes … allegedly at the last hearing it was reported that Mr Craddock didn’t even have a list of witnesses put together at that time ….

The next Directions Hearing is allegedly in August …(unless today’s announcement changes that??? )

The matter will return to court in August for a further directions hearing.

Edit to add the link about witnesses … I have finally found it ..

Craddock said a full list of issues and witnesses was yet to be confirmed, but NSW Police procedures on missing children were likely to be probed at the end-of-year hearings.

One thing is for sure, they need to immediately seal off the area so the police dogs (when they get there) can determine which way the missing child went. Without the entire scene being contaminated.

imo

I wonder if today’s news has something to do with the Coroner / Craddock finally receiving the Police Report???

He (Craddock) was waiting for a statement from the officer in charge of the investigation about steps taken since the adjournment in 2020.
Grahame said she was unable to proceed with the inquest until those issues were finalised.

Just wondering … IMO

Absolutely agree!!!

And possibly take witness statements the same day …. Police could assign detectives specifically for that purpose …. As an additional resource…
So as not to deplete the initial response team …

“Contemporaneous Documentation” is so important in all things legal ..

Would be in the interests of the investigation, if:
No one from the missing child's houshold is allowed to travel further than .. km (no car trips to any airports, train stations, ports or recreational areas). Maybe applicable for the whole first week after the child is missing.
Promptly witness statements from all those present at the home. No excuses, because they are elderly or children. Use the experts of the respektive profession.

Ideas from a layperson, of course.

The wording in the Sydney Morning Herald ….

On Tuesday, the director of public prosecutions said it had suspended a review of that brief.

Pursuant to a waiver of legal privilege by the Commissioner of Police, the ODPP can advise that the NSW Police Force asked that this Office suspend its consideration of their request for advice in this matter until after the conclusion of the next tranche of the inquest hearings in November and December 2024.”

Any legal eagles here that know exactly what that means ???

IMO

I think it just means that the Commissioner of Police has said the dealing between them and the DPP doesn't have to be confidential. That the DPP could tell people that the police asked for the review to be suspended. imo

Waiver occurs when the holder of the privilege acts in a way that is inconsistent with the communication remaining confidential. Waiver can be intentional, unintentional or implied.

There has been another embarrassing backdown by the detectives investigating the foster mother of the missing toddler William Tyrrell.
They’ve failed to supply evidence to the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions to have William’s foster mother charged over the toddler’s disappearance.
This has been their sole focus for at least the past two years, and maybe longer. With all the resources available to them in a very well-funded NSW police unit, they stopped looking for little William and focused entirely it would seem, on pinning it all on his foster mother.

Also from that article

It would appear those close to the Tyrrell case have used dirty tricks by leaking details, without substance, to the media to run a smear campaign against the foster mother. For example, every year since Willian disappeared aged just three years old, a passionate team of his supporters who founded the Where’s William campaign have used the anniversary of his disappearance to prompt awareness of his plight. Last year on the eve of that anniversary, someone in the case leaked “news” that William’s foster mother was to be charged over his disappearance.

The leak at that point had no supporting evidence and action. No police turned up to arrest the mother, there was no brief for the DPP. In short, there was nothing. Trust me, when police know they have a case, they make a surprise arrest and the first media know about it is when the suspect is already in custody.

As you said yesterday, I think the NSW taxpayers can expect to pay another $1,000,000 lawsuit.

I'd love to have a peak of what findings the coroner was going to hand down all those years ago . She must be highly frustrated with this investigation IMO

William deserves way better than the circus this case has become :(

This is BS moo. The leak came within the week that police announced a new primary POI/suspect was being investigated due to a new witness they had not heard from before. Then the big dig was announced. The FFC was not named but it was published that police were looking at her actions. It's interesting that MU has shut up since that announcement until now. His article is trash IMO.

Who was the new witness that they had not spoken to before? The former female foster child?

He may have got his dates mixed up, but he is not wrong about distractions around the anniversary. Distractions that have led to nothing.
But the good thing is that it has been proved that William wasn't dumped near the riding school. And his shoes were not tossed out of the car there. So those things have been crossed off the list. imo

Eg:
12th Sept 2021
Police have confirmed “new information” has come to light about the 2014 disappearance of three-year-old William Tyrrell as strike force detectives revisited the location where he was last seen.
