It would be great to know when the last sighting happened exactly. Was it in the morning hours or afternoon hours?
I only found a John Doe located in Yosemite National Park, but it's not Dikran as this UID was located in 1968. As Gayeld said, it's very likely his remains are still there, but taking into account the pass of the time, the animals... Sadly, I think it's almost impossible to find him.

This is such a sad end to a promising young life. I wish his remains could be recovered. I suppose they were destroyed by animals and also the elements.

Dikran "Dik" Knadjian was a medical student studying at Cambridge University, England who went missing from Yosemite National Park, California in 1992. Kieran Burke was 44 when he traveled alone to San Francisco for a two-week holiday in April 2000. A Dubliner who disappeared without a trace in Yosemite National Park more than 20 years ago is one of 13 people to have vanished in the California park never to be seen again.

Details of Disappearance​

Knadjian was last seen at Camp Curry Village in Yosemite National Park in California on July 24, 1972. He asked the registration desk attendant how to get to Half Dome. He has never been heard from again.

Knadjian was a medical student at Cambridge University in England at the time of his disappearance. He was vacationing in the U.S. with plans to visit Florida after his stay at Yosemite. He is presumed to have gotten lost or injured in the wilderness.
