Probably because the prosecutor wasn't willing to decline to file charges re their disappearance and that's the only reason Justice would give up the location of the children. IMO, JMO

idk at this point he could have pled to what he got IF he divulged where they were so at least they could be properly buried and the case closed (or recovered if they are alive)

Yes but unfortunately, he doesn't seem to care about the anguish he's putting their family through.

There may be a weakness in the mom's murder case that caused the prosecutor to offer this deal to ensure Justice served some time at least.

I wish he gave up those babies' location too. The family's agony must be almost unbearable... not knowing where those precious little ones are.

IMO, JMO

Detroit man sentenced to at least 47 years in prison for woman's 2014 death; kids still missing

Erin Justice pleads guilty to second-degree murder in plea deal

DETROIT -
A Detroit man whose two children remain missing will spend decades in prison after pleading guilty to a reduced murder charge in the slaying of his estranged wife...

The witness who testified against Justice stated in an article linked above that the older daughter was playing outside and the baby was in a stroller when he saw the mother's body upstairs. If I'm understanding correctly, he also helped dispose of the body in the vacant house? Has he ever said where the children while they were moving her or afterwards?

Sad to say, I believe the children were probably both disposed of (hate to write that) during his 300 - 400 mile drive in the rented truck, although its possible the baby could be somewhere with his relatives. Babies can't talk, they aren't enrolled in school... and who knows what kind of actual bond he had with his stepdaughter.

It must be so awful for the woman's family not to know:(

Nothing new on Kaylah and Kristian, but wanted to add the sentencing for Timothy Jones. He received a mere 2 to 5 years in prison for his role.

"They will reap what they sow," said Travae Fox in court. "I can go on and on and stand here but it all ends in one perfect sentence. He left my grandchildren's safety in the arms of a murderer after he saw my daughter's lifeless body lying there."

[...]

Jones maintains he has no idea where they are and regrets taking part in the crime - for a watch and a pair of Cartier glasses.

"He traded my grandchildren's safety for social status, for a pair of glasses and a watch," Fox said.

I still think about these children and hope, wherever they are, they are safe.

I would be LIVID that they maae a deal w the actual killer and he wouldn't reveal where the children were. and IMO if Jones was the last person to see those babies, and they in fact aren't with Justice's family out of state (which shouldn't be THAT hard to determine) they are deceased and close to Detroit. he isn't going to deal w two babies all that way if he isn't going to keep them alive.

Family of missing Detroit kids keeps up hope

More than three years have passed, yet Travae Fox feels she still has not properly put to rest her daughter, who was shot to death by her estranged husband.

Not only is she still mourning the loss of Alicia Fox-Justice, the Detroit woman remains obsessed with finding her daughter’s two young children, who were last seen shortly before their mother’s body was found June 9, 2014, in an abandoned house on Penrod Street.

Fox says she can’t give her daughter a proper memorial without knowing the whereabouts of Kaylah Hunter, who was 6, and Kristian Justice, who was 8 months old when they disappeared in late May 2014.

“We had a private service among family, but we didn’t hold one that is official,” Fox said. “I wanted my grandchildren to be there.” ...
