...If Baby Gabriel's mother is found incompetent to ever stand trial, she would be sent to the Arizona State Hospital and entitled to release hearings every two years, officials said.
Elizabeth Johnson, 25, has been found incompetent to stand trial by four of five doctors, Maricopa County Judge Paul McMurdie said in court Tuesday.
Of the four, three said she could be restored to competency with counseling, medication and therapy, said Jerry Cobb, spokesman for Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery.
The judge said that attorneys can interview the three doctors who evaluated Johnson most recently.
..."I want to make sure there is a plan to make her restorable," McMurdie said.
Defense attorney Dan Raynak said he intends to use the hearing to press the doctors on whether Johnson can ever cooperate with her attorneys.
"I think there is a real issue on whether she is restorable," Raynak said. "We will be focusing on whether or not she is restorable. "
