ADMIN NOTE:

Unless there is MSM or a report from LE that Theo was involved in drugs, please do not speculate or posit hypotheticals in that regard. Discussing known victim behavior, good or bad, is allowed as long as it is done respectfully. Introducing negative connotations about a victim when there is nothing to substantiate is not victim friendly and is not allowed.

Hi, I have sent you a message regarding rewording my post.

Hey sleuths,

Its coming up to a year since Theo went missing.

I just thought its worth mentioning to keep an eye out for any friends, locals or travelers posting Facebook and IG "memories" or throwback pics in Byron Bay Specifically Tallows beach from the 31/5 and 1/6 2019.

Rehashing the events, I've found a few more topics of discussion and news stories of interest for you.

IMO, I agree with Rocket333 and others that he may have chosen to walk back to WakeUp through Tennyson st, past the YAC, up Gilmore Cres and along the beach to Belongil.

Its safe to say the last confident assumption we can make is that we know he got to the REC grounds on Tennyson st.

From here innumerable possibilities have been discussed, but I have a couple of fresh ones.

We have established that it is a local youth hang out, free parking location and campers dwell in the reserve.

Although these articles are a couple of years before Theos disappearance, it would make sense that someone else picked up where Brown left off, and a local like this could also frequent hangouts like Cheeky Monkeys and Tennyson.

In this article you see that the water towers were included in the locations he would stash items. The one pictures specifically in the article is on lighthouse rd.

http://voiceofbyron.com.au/byron-bay-high-school-student-in-jail-over-drugs-charges/

in this article: "THE DAILY Telegraph has written this morning that a Byron Bay teenager is in jail after his family was unable to pay a $200,000 surety for his alleged drug dealing.
Flynn is accused of selling $800 worth cocaine to undercover police and having a treasure trove of safes in secret locations throughout the region.
He fronted Byron Bay Local Court charged with 13 counts of supply prohibited drugs, including ice, cocaine, MDMA, cannabis and heroin-laced pills.
Police allege the teenager sold drugs to fellow Byron Bay High School students, to locals and tourists in licensed premises and to revellers at music festivals.

If Theo encountered a group at the end of Tennyson, he may have stopped because:

He was mugged or he made friends

-Perhaps there was a car parked at 27 Tennyson st

This could account for that movement inferred from the pic from The Australian in Rocket333's post on 10Nov 2019 - Blue line (walking) to end of road, Red line (running/ brisk walking) doubling back to outside that address, on that side of the road, before heading at pace through the REC grounds to Cowper st.

Maybe he decided to join a group going to Cosy Corner and went to meet the crew in the car, but there was not enough room in the car. It would make sense for one group to take a short cut there through the Milne track with Theo meeting the group in the car at Tallows/Cosy?
Or maybe someone else had his phone when they went to the car before the trip to Cosy Corner?

- Perhaps there was a stash spot out the front of 27 Tennyson st

This would also account for the movement, maybe a point on a delivery run of sorts?
JMO but I think he may have been relieved of phone and hat (possibly shoes – In The Lighthouse Ep5 4:14 it says a searcher saw some a white shoe looking down from above Tallows with binoculars- possibly replaced and discarded) and they could be on the journey without him.

After 7 min the Phone crosses the REC grounds to Cowper st, a known location for drug deals (as mentioned in the podcast).

The route the phone eventually takes to the Milne track is Marvell st, onto Massenger st, up Short st, then Patterson to Milne and down the track.

However, he passes Marvell st and goes to the corner of Cowper and Carlyle st first, before doubling back to Marvell.

Perhaps the double back on Cowper was to:
- meet someone/drop something to someone staying at the accommodation on the corner of Carlyle and Cowper St?
- Dropping off or collecting something in that location?

The return to Marvell is unusual because the most direct route to Milne is continuing up Carlyle st to Massenger, shortening the journey, but instead doubles back again to go up Marvell st.
- Was this to avoid walking past the Top Shop and being detected by cameras?

The phone follows the Milne track onto the Fire trail to the T intersection on the path, searches WakeUp and waits for a min or two
- Waiting for a vehicle to arrive at the Tallows car park?
- Waiting for a go ahead of some kind?
- Waiting for someone else to leave the car park?

Then goes “off the beaten track” through the bush towards the beach, navigating around two homeless camps.
-Averted due to Local Knowledge?

Hat located in this vicinity.
-Dropped en route to Cosy Corner or return journey? Planted after the fact?

Reaches Tallows at 11:48pm then charges up the beach to Cosy Corner.
The Podcast says he travelled up the beach at 6km/h for 8 min, approx 842m.
- To catch up with people already there?

It doesn’t stop when it gets there though, at 11:56pm it continues through the dunes and up into the slope into a scrub cubby and sits for five minutes. Phone not active in this time.
- Again local knowledge?
- If hands are occupied you can’t use your phone
- Changing shoes?
- Was it a place out of the weather to use a flame to smoke?
- Is it a stash spot of sorts?
- Escape the elements?
- Hiding?
- is arriving there at 12am significant?

At 12:03 Returns back to the beach
- Throwing white shoes?

GPS ceases 12:05
-probably a low battery power saving mode?

17 min after being back on the beach a Facebook message is sent at 12:20am.
- Doing what for 17 min between?
- Did it just receive the message or was it one hadn’t been replied to from earlier?
- Messages may have already been drafted ready to send?
- Can you access replying to messages from lock screen through the notification without unlocking phone or does it require a print or access code?

Three minutes after that (12:23am) he watches 1min 50 sec of a youtube video
- Was it searched out intentionally?
- Could it be opened from a notification from youtube through lockscreen without requiring a passcode of sorts?
- Was this a recommended clip from simply opening the youtube app or site?

32 minutes no activity
- Walking somewhere?

12:55am WhatsApp msg to step sister Emma in Belgium ‘Merci’ and kiss emoji then one minute later phone pings “near town” at 12:56am.
- Could have easily been improvised observing previous messages in French, maybe the phone messages already drafted and simply sent from his phone?
- Same queries as previous messages really

Five minutes later at 1:01AM phone zooms into WakeUp hostel on google maps
- On the way back to town? Maybe along Cosy Corner trail? Maybe back through fire trail and Milne track?
-Is 1am or 1:30 am significant to anything in town?
-feels like a very intentionally timed couple of hours.

Then nothing until 1:42PM, the Last ping off Patterson st Antenna (attached to a water tank which covers 60 degrees from Main beach to the lighthouse).

Why was the phone in transit for a solid 50min, searching WakeUp but making intentional detours in the opposite direction? The phone was only used to access google maps in that time, seemingly unnecessarily.
-If the phone was damaged could it glitch and search the same thing over and over?

Phone got to Cosy Corner cubby, sits for five or so, then goes back down to beach around 12am

No activity for 17min

Then a Facebook message is sent at 12:20

Three minutes pass no activity

Less than 2 min of a youtube video is watched and ends around 12:25.

Half an hour passes no activity

Whatsapp msg to step sister 12:55am, phone ping “near town” 12:56am

Zoom in on WakeUp 1:01 am.

Nothing for 12 hrs

1:42pm last ping in “area of the cape”

JMO the phone was in someone elses possession and only got attention when the holder wasn’t occupied with their activities. These movements really don’t seem so erratic in context of the activities of some characters in Byron Bay. Baby faced drug lord for example.

Lockout law is significant:
The legislation requires 1.30am lockouts and 3am last drinks at bars, pubs and clubs.

I just wanted to add to your post HinterlandObserver.

There is a chance of somebody getting out of CM via the fire exit at the back (near the toilets) that exit brings you exactly out of sight of the camera’s and perfectly next to Theo on Kinsley Street.

Only the police can count how many people walked in and out on the camera’s but i wouldn’t be surprised of the numbers don’t add up. Security wasn’t near the toilets at the time Theo was put outside as the security guard walked Theo out.

My thoughts and prayers are with Theo’s loved ones on the one year anniversary of his disappearance. A big thank you to everyone in Byron Bay who has looked tirelessly for Theo. Many thanks to everyone here who posts in his thread.

May 31 marked the anniversary of Theo’s disappearance. A beautiful gathering was held at the lighthouse and we watched the sun set and listened to discussions from Theo’s family and the volunteers.

The life like image projected on the lighthouse with flowing sand along with a local artist singing was just one of the saddest yet beautiful heartwarming things I have seen and heard.

Theo can see how many wonderful people in the community are still searching for answers to bring him home to his devistated family.

I feel greatful to be surrounded by such wonderful people in the community who will never give up searching for him.

I feel so sad for Theo’s family at this time and how heartbreaking this is.

I just heard on the radio a jaw bone has been discovered on a nsw beach belonging to a male about 20 years old, it shouldn't take them long to examine Theo's dental records to either confirm or rule him out. It's very strange that none of Theo's clothes washed up on the beaches near Byron, normally if someone fell off the cliffs in Byron by accident or on purpose they would lose their shoes and hat from the waves and those items would be washed ashore up the beach a bit. Theo's hat wasn't found washed up on the beach but on a track that had been previously searched nemerous times. It definitely seems like foul play rather than him trying get back to wake up by going along the beach

Mystery surrounds human jawbone discovery on beach

The jaw bone that was found appears to be stained black, I would have thought the bone would be bleached white if it was discovered on a beach. I looked up what turns bones black that have washed up on beaches and it seems if the bone was in silt in a lake or river for a time it will be stained black. So the jaw bone must have come from one of the creeks or rivers (there is heaps of rivers around the beach it was found).

A body may have been submerged in a river and due to natural decomposing or a flash flood may caused the jaw bone to get taken down stream into the ocean

It is highly unlikely its Theo's but there was a sighting of someone matching his description on the side of a road in Coffs Harbour on June 2. This was a few days before he was reported missing. If the bone does turn out to belong to Theo then this would confirm the Coffs Harbour sighting and would also confirm foul play as there's no way that bone could have drifted from Byron to the central coast and not be bleached white.

It could possibly be from one of the 18 year old French backpackers who drowned off Coffs Harbour.
