Andrew Charles Ward
- RCMP handout photo
''RCMP have released a video from a convenience store security camera showing the last confirmed sighting of a Quesnel man who has been missing for over a month.

It shows Andrew Charles Ward making a purchase on May 9 at about 7:20 p.m. at the 4 Mile Store & Coffee Shop on the Barkerville Highway just outside of Quesnel and in the company of someone else known to him, RCMP said.''

''Ward drove away in a grey Jeep YJ, and to be headed towards the Pinnacles Road area. He has not been seen since.

Ward is described as 61 years old and 5'8" tall with a thin build, short, dark, salt and pepper hair, scruffy beard, both arms covered in tattoos and wearing glasses.

RCMP have also called Ward's disappearance "highly unusual" and are asking for anyone who had dealings with Ward during the months of April and May to contact police.

"Regardless of whether or not you saw him in the days leading up to his disappearance, police are trying to gain a better understanding of who Andrew was, and what may have happened to him," said North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.

Anyone with information on where Ward may be is asked to contact the Quesnel RCMP at 250-992-9211. If you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).''

He hasn't been found, I'm a friend of an estranged family member of his and recently the RCMP began requesting familial blood samples in order to identify remains, should any that match his description pop up.

There's more to the story, I don't know the full extent but will try to direct the family member who seems to be conducting their own investigation of sorts to this thread so that she can possibly clear things up or put some information out there.

Has his vehicle also not been found? If not the Fraser River and Quesnel River are in the direction he was traveling, I hope that's not the outcome but that might need to be checked. I don't know if there are any sonar teams up there, maybe flyers could be posted at boat ramps?
4 years today.

Cannot seem to find an update.. 2020 repost.
