Taken from the RCMP website:

20 year old Jessica Estabrooks of Moncton, NB was last seen on August 23, 1996 as she walked home along Killam Drive in Moncton after finishing her shift at the Burger King restaurant. On October 21, 1996, partial human remains were found along the banks of the Petitcodiac River near Beaumont and were later positively identified as those of Jessica Eatabrooks. A forensic autopsy was conducted and the results indicated that her death was due to a criminal act.

The New Brunswick Crime Facebook came up with two suspects so far. Her boyfriend, Shane and a man called Micheal Wayne McGray who is in custody because he is a Canadian serial killer convicted of killing seven individuals, and claims to have killed eleven others, between 1985 and 1998.

Does anyone know how Micheal would have known Jessica or how Micheal killed his other victims, if Jessica is related to this serial killer?

Is there any CCTV footage, any witnesses, any images of the victim before she died?

ADMIN NOTE:

Please note that opening a thread at Websleuths requires a link be supplied to an MSM article or a report by LE that outlines the case for discussion.

Accordingly, to justify the opening of this thread, I have located an appropriate link:

Police taking another look at four-year-old murder case

Have also edited the thread title to provide more detail on Jessica's murder and correct the spelling of her surname.

That's a good question. It's certainly possible. I am reaching out to the RCMP on this case for a statement, will ask this question (whether they answer is a different situation).

what time was she walking home at? would there have been witnesses driving by who saw her get into/be dragged into a car? would there have been traffic cameras there in 1995? or surveillance cameras on businesses along the route? did she have any odd or uncomfortable experiences at work with a customer? maybe there was video of the perp visiting/stalking her at work?

SL (Jessica's Fiance) was arrested and released the following day, a year after her death. No charges have been laid.
"The prosecutor said there might be a situation where the crown doesn't think it has the evidence it wants or needs to feel comfortable about laying charges..."
...
Jessica was seen walking towards her home on Killam Drive at around 7:45 pm, wearing her Burger King uniform. She was in her apartment. Her uniform was in her apartment, indicating that she made it home. She started watching about 5 minutes of the movie backdraft, poured a glass of pop (soda) and had a snack or something to eat. She left her apartment wearing blue jeans, white and purple Nikes, a white tank top and possibly a blue light sweater and her purse. The TV, VCR and all lights were turned off. She took her purse with her and only locked one of the two locks on the door (according to SL, only one lock was locked when he came home from work). She did not take a jacket, even though it was summer; the evenings at the end of august tend to get chilly in that area. (I am from there). According to SL, they would usually lock both locks on the door if they were going to be away from the apartment for any length of time. If they were only planning to be away for a short while, only one of the locks would be engaged. Also, apparently, she didn't like walking at night in the city.

According to a later newspaper article, she allegedly was seen leaving her apartment at around 8 pm (initial articles indicated no one saw her leave). According to SL (her fiance), she would sometimes get annoyed if the building was noisy and visit him at the pizzeria where he was an assistant manager.
