Nealy has sought a deal: he's willing to plead guilty to all four counts of first-degree murder in exchange for four consecutive life sentences.
^^ Unless the Ivancic family wants death, I think the state will eventually accept this 'deal'.
Shelby Nealy, accused of killing ex-wife and her family, wants a deal
June 3, 2019
LARGO — Shelby Nealy, charged with four counts of first-degree murder, is trying to save his own life.

The 25-year-old man is accused of killing his ex-wife, her parents and her brother. In three of those killings, Nealy faces the death penalty.

In court Monday, Nealy's public defender Allison Miller told Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Joseph Bulone that since his Feb. 3 extradition to Florida following his arrest in Ohio, Nealy has sought a deal: he's willing to plead guilty to all four counts of first-degree murder in exchange for four consecutive life sentences.

"The state has rejected that offer," Miller said, standing alongside Nealy, who was dressed in an orange jail jumpsuit. Listed at 5-foot-3 and 120 pounds in jail records, he looked diminutive behind the courtroom's lectern and flanked by bailiffs. He kept his uncuffed hands behind his back during the brief hearing. His hair and beard were trimmed short.
[...]
His plea remains not guilty, and the case will drum toward trial. Bulone told Miller to move ahead with the discovery process and begin taking depositions as part of her defense.
[...]
The deaths of the family members are being prosecuted together in Pinellas County. Even though Pinellas and Pasco together compose Florida's sixth judicial circuit, Nealy is being prosecuted separately in Pasco County for the death of his ex-wife, though Miller represents him in both cases. He does not face the death penalty in that case.

The next hearing in the Pinellas case is scheduled for July 29. In Pasco, the next hearing is scheduled for June 26.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Which of the murders will go to trial first?
That is the question posed at Monday’s pre-trial hearing for accused killer Shelby Nealy.

Clad in an orange jumpsuit in court, Nealy stood next to his public defender as she told the judge she didn’t know which case to focus on first.

Nealy faces three murder charges in Pinellas County and a fourth in Pasco County.

The next pre-trial hearing is set for Aug. 12.

Accused family murderer Shelby Nealy set for trial in Pinellas
October 7, 2019
LARGO — Shelby Nealy is set to stand trial in Pinellas County on Nov. 10, 2020 in the killing of his ex-wife’s family.

That date, set at a Monday hearing, is four months after his trial date in Pasco County in the killing of his ex-wife, Jamie Ivancic.
[...]
Nealy is standing trial for each incident separately. His trial in Pasco, where he faces one count of first-degree murder, is set for July 20, 2020. He does not face the death penalty in that case.

He does face the death penalty in Pinellas, where he is charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

Defense attorney Allison Miller reiterated to Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Joseph Bulone on Monday that Nealy has offered to plead guilty to all four murder in exchange for four life sentences. Prosecutors have not taken that deal.

Shelby Nealy incompetent to stand trial, lawyer says

A judge on Monday appointed a doctor to evaluate whether Shelby Nealy, who faces the death penalty in the slayings of his wife and three of her family members, is competent to stand trial.

Nealy, 27, is unable to help his lawyers with his defense, has “irrational trial strategies” and distrusts his attorneys, according to court documents.

LARGO — Two experts have determined that Shelby Nealy, who is accused of killing his ex-wife and three of her family members, is competent to stand trial, attorneys for the state and defense said in court Monday.

But Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Joseph Bulone will hear testimony from both of them at a hearing Oct. 5 before ruling on whether Nealy’s mental health is sound enough to move forward with the case.

PCSO news conference 3 PM today:
Body found in Port Richey is missing wife of suspect in Tarpon Springs slayings, relatives say
January 8, 2019
TARPON SPRINGS — A body found in the yard of a Port Richey home on Sunday is a missing woman whose parents and brother were found murdered at their home in Tarpon Springs on New Year's Day, relatives said.

Jamie Ivancic, 21, lived at the Port Richey home with her husband Shelby Svensen, who is a suspect in the murder of Ivancic's three relatives. She may have been killed months earlier, relatives said.

Investigators believe Richard Ivancic, 71, his wife Laura Ivancic, 59, and the couple’s 25-year-old son, Nicholas Ivancic, were killed either Dec. 19 or 20.

The three were killed by blunt force trauma from an object, according to Mike Ivancic, Richard Ivancic's son from his first marriage. Mike Ivancic also confirmed to the Tampa Bay Times that the body found was Jamie Ivancic and said she may have been dead for six to eight months.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office had no comment Tuesday on the identification of the body or on how the victims were killed. The Sheriff’s Office has declined to provide details about the killings but plans a news conference at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
OMG. Those poor little kids. They have been scarred for life.
