*Bond Review Hearing (@ 1:30pm) - MO – Girl (5) died & girl (5) survived & found on Nov. 3, 2022 in home, Kansas City - *Adair R. Fish (43) arrested (12/1/22) & charged (12/5/22) with 1 count of felony abuse/neglect of a child resulting in death, 1 count of felony abuse/neglect of a child-serious emotional or physical injury, 1 count of 1st degree endangering the welfare of a child-death of child & 1 count of 1st degree endangering the welfare of a child-serious physical injury. Held without bond.
Fish had regained custody of her twin girls on 11/15/19. A 911 call was made by Fish & during the call with the police & paramedics, she stated that one of the children has been dead for several days & the other was unresponsive. City police were dispatched to the 5700 block of St. John Avenue on 11/3/22 for a report of a dead 5-year-old child. Officers found two children, one deceased and the other non-responsive. According to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, Fish was the legal guardian of the child & had care, custody & control of their health & well-being. A doctor diagnosed that the dead child suffered from malnutrition & dehydration. The surviving twin girl showed signs of suffering physical abuse & significant neglect. Doctors found that she had bruises on her body. She was malnourished, suffered dehydration & weighed as much as a 20-month-old child, court documents said. The child also showed premature social behaviors because she was kept isolated. Due to the neglect, the child may reportedly suffer long-term effects, including permanent negative effects on her growth & cognitive development.
