Not only did Tom Bevel look for knife patterns on the wrong floor, but he didn't look until Nov. 27, 1996, 5 months after the murders. Darlie said the knife was laying half-way into the utility room, and not in the utility room. Bevel looked in the utility room. The knife would most likely have been dropped on the kitchen throw rug just in front of the utility room. At trial, Bevel said he didn't know there was a throw rug in front of the utility room!

Were Bevels gaffes intentional? Absolutely!
