That's a heckuva thing to say. Very selfish, IMO. She could have said something like she was sorry she let it happen or she hopes the girl is found safe. Nope, she focuses on herself of course. Certainly sounds familiar, like another case we know of.

I watched her uncut interview and noticed that she said that but I didn't think anything of it ... she young, she's probably thinking about what the father said about her, calling her a dumb b....., etc.

There was, however, one thing that did strike me as odd .... SHE SAYS THAT HER BLANKET WAS IN THE VAN THEY TOOK ... what the heck does that mean????? I haven't heard anything about a van, a stolen van, any vehicle that was seen in the area at the time of the alleged abduction ... so what is the deal with this comment??

Anyone got any ideas?

After watching that video of her....my heart has softened. She does not seem to be anything but very upset and sincere.

From her interview the window of time would be between Misty's bedtime and 3AM when she got up and found the kitchen light on and the back door wide open.

Hang on....kitchen light on?? Why would an abductor turn on the light???

Oh man, I am all over with this one.

Exactly! So perp turned on the light? Did he have a glass of milk too?
 
Here is the problem with search efforts. By the time they are organized the child is already presumed dead. We need a more specailized task force that searches for these children. Sure the Amber Alert is wonderful. But I am betting the police did not assemble a task force at 3:30am when the call was placed and an actual door to door search wasn't performed until the morning.

I think when it comes to the safety of a child, an immediate door to door search is mandatory and should be done within the first hour the child goes missing along with ordering a ground search crew.

Oh....and the blanket that smelled like pee so it had to be washed?? Also something about a blanket over the window. How many blankets? 3?
 
If that was her sister's myspace page I found it shows a picture of a van. Maybe while the nephew's were visiting the child's blanket was left in the van? I need to listen again.
 
Haleigh got up to get a drink and turned the kitchen light on? The van the blanket was in could be the vehicle the dad takes to work?
