I hope you can all follow what I have to say without getting too confused with my storytelling. I can tell you I am confused already.
On Sunday, June 25, 1995 before the GD show, in one of the parking lots at RFK Stadium, there were 3 people (2 girls and a guy) who were sitting up in a tree when lightning struck them. One of the females was critical condition and the other 2 were in stable condition. (If this were Jason it would explain why the ticket to the Sunday night show looks to be unused??)
On Monday, June 26, 1995 the 2 that were in stable condition were released from the hospital. OK, this is where you might lose me and I might get lost. The guy who got released was a John Pongel, age 21 from Danville, VA. Let's imagine that he went back to wherever he was supposed to meet his ride (again let's pretend his ride was supposed to be Caroline O. & Caroline T.) and they were gone and this is where he finds the note that we are sorry we missed you, see you later, call me. and has their number. So, Jason starts thumbing where he meets up with Michael Eric Hager and then they stop by Michael's father's house for a few and then head out on their way and end up in the car accident in Emporia, VA on Highway 58. What is strange is that to get to Danville, VA (would it be long distance to call from Danville, VA to Chapel Hill, NC?) you would continue travelling on Highway 58 for another 2 and a half hours. Then maybe Jason was going to pick up some items from his place and then drop down into Chapel Hill, NC (that has the 914 phone prefix) where perhaps the 2 Caroline's lived? Michael Eric Hager may have continued on his way to Inman, South Carolina from this location.
Anyone think this could be a likely scenario?
Here are a couple pieces of articles about the 3 who were hit by lightning:
3 Grateful Dead Concertgoers Struck by Lightning Near RFK; Woman Is Injured Critically in Parking Lot
The Washington Post | June 26, 1995
Lightning injured three people, one critically, as they huddled under a tree yesterday outside Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium before a concert by Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead.
Kristin Daniel, 20, of Danville, Va., was critically injured when lightning struck about 3 p.m. as thunderstorms moved through the area. She was taken by ambulance to D.C. General Hospital, next to the stadium, where she was listed in critical condition, officials said.
The other victims, Kira Lee, 23, and John Pongel, 21, were in stable condition at George Washington University Medical [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
