From the money Anita made on her interview. (100,000). It's wrong to pay for a news item, but she probably held out for pay.

I'm sure they only "licensed" photos of Joran as a child/baby (she said sarcastically) . IIRC, weren't some photos shown or released? GMA says it doesn't pay for interviews, but wonder if they pay Aruban news outlets for copies of interviews to show on GMA? Also, didn't Anita say that, although she wouldn't visit Joran, she would pay for an attorney for him?

Given that the attorneys were female maybe JVDS was 'off his game' -- we just know how he likes to feel in control???

Aha...that's the real reason for his complaint...it's all becoming clear to me now...LOL :waitasec:

I am not 100% sure on this, But I think that when one news program gets an exclusive interview and then another station ABC or NBC wants to air that on there program they are charged from the original news organization that got the interview, could this be why ABC & NBC have had to pay money to be able to use excepts of the original interview during programs that they plan on airing?

Breaking news! Joran van der Sloot's mother opens up, reportedly saying her son has always been a sneaky liar and that his gambling led to his alleged involvement in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway and the brutal killing of a young Peruvian woman. Nancy Grace has the latest breaking developmen...

:woohoo:

yup...and the Peruvian Authorities should call it a stale mate and release his sphincter out the front gates... See how far he gets this time...:truce:

I agree. OK Joran, that's cool ... off you go then.

AVS: "Maybe he missed a chance to become an actor," his mother said.

Can anyone imagine hearing this kind of trifling, devoid-of-empathy banter coming from the mother of the murderer of your child (i.e., if you were the Holloway or Flores family)? Really, she has no decency.

I am so tired of Joran saying he has this language barrier and doesn't understand much Spanish. He was born in the Netherlands in 1987 yet moved to Aruba in 1990 when he was only 3!! Per the "The Original Official Homepage of the Aruba Tourism Authority" nearly everyone on the island is able to speak English and Spanish, in addition to Dutch, which is the official language of Aruba.
He has been to Columbia and Peru and didnt seem to have any problems speaking or understanding the language before. NOW, all of a sudden he's illiterate :waitasec: Just needed to get this off my chest..Thanks for listening!

and now we're back to Sun., June 6...quoted in a Dutch newspaper in the actual confession:

"In the city of Lima , at 11.25u at June 6, 2010 , in the presence of the representative of the Public Ministry in Lima , Roxana Rosado Soto , the Homicide Division .

Andreaus Peter Joran van der Sloot ( 22 ) from Arnhem , born August 6, 1987 . Marital status : single. Son of Paul and Anita van der Sloot van der Sloot. Education: Bachelor of the Han HAN Nijmegen . Living in Aruba , but enrolled in Arnhem .

Present the lawyer Luz Marina Romero Chinchay and the witness and translator of the Dutch embassy Maurice Stein . "

Interesting that it also names the attorney and intepreter who were present at the confession. How can Joran be complaining about the interpreter, when he was provided by his own embassy!!!

(sorry can't get the translated link to post)

And I found an article about the first attorney (in the two attorney confusion):

"The public advocate , Carla Odría , who attended the Dutchman Joran van der Sloot said it did not participate in the proceeding held on the eve , where the alien is convicted of the crime of Stephany Ramirez Flores .

In a conversation with RPP said that advised overseas until Saturday 5 June, when it would hold a rally at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department ( Dirincri ) but this was suspended at the request of the Dutchman, who claimed to be too tired .

Counsel stated that on Monday morning she appeared to Dirincri to know the date on which due diligence would be rescheduled , however , Major Percy Trujillo said that Van der Sloot and had a private attorney and do not want giving further details. "

(once again, sorry but no translation!)

Thanks for finding these!! Now here is the comment in the actual confession statement regarding the change of lawyers...

Questions from the police and the representative of the Public

1.Via translator : Do you have advice from a lawyer for this statement ?

- My lawyer is present .

2 . Explain why your statement about the murder of Tatiana Flores Stephany Ramirez ( 1921 ) on June 5 has failed to finish , despite the presence of a representative of the OM , the translator and the lawyer ?

- Because I was tired and had not slept in 24 hours . I wanted my statement and my lawyer told me that I had better wait until the end of the police investigation and the right to talk to the judge.

So he is admitting in his statement that he was told by the public defender not to make a statement and to wait for the investigation to finish and talk to the judge but he made a statement anyway the next day and stated that his "lawyer" was present.

No surprise that he chose not to take the advice of his female public defender. I so want to hear the police version of how he came to make this statement with a private lawyer by his side.

He probably requested to make it...apparently he said he wanted to make it on the 5th but was advised against it...and the public defender wasn't available, being a Sunday and all. He probably agreed to a different lawyer but of couse none of that is on tape so it's his word against LE.

Could all this be bubbling up to a law suit against the Peruvian Government... I would hate to think that Joran could have been smart enough to think this far ahead... To get the money off of BH and involve the FBI. and murder the daughter of a well known Peruvian on the 5th anniverary of NH dissapearance...This is becoming WAY to coincidental...almost scarey... and part of his alibi would be insanity, which is why he was set to have himself committed to a hospital...????????? wow...I'm starting to scare myself... I sure hope I'm wrong....but if he wanted to go out with a bang...he sure is doing a heck of a job....could he have planned all this????? naawwwwwwwwww.......??

FLNY: Thanks for finding all that information so quickly!
I am now inclined to think that Sunday June 6th, is when the confession came. More importantly though, is the information you found in those articles about those two lawyers and the Dutch Embassy translator appearing right away in a published article.
I guess the following few days, we spent wondering if there was going to be a "re-creation" of the crime, at the crime scene. Then, on Thursday June 10th he was wisked off to the prosecutor's office.

Yes and it appears the confession was quite late on the 6th so in some countries it actually was the 7th.

They should have forced that reconstruction too. They didn't do it for security reasons right? Trying to protect him from the angry public? Why isn't he complaining about that?

I do think he could have thought far enough ahead to use BH money to go somewhere, anywhere and kill another girl on the 5th anniversary, what better way to get another dig into the one female in this world that he hates the most.

What is the Inter-American Court of Human Rights????????? Sure hope they have NO clout!!!!! It makes me sick just thinking about it.

I'm not exactly sure what the Inter-American Court of Human Rights is, but I don't think they have a lot of clout.
Example: A U.S. citizen, Lori Berenson, was incarcerated in Peru on charges that she was part of a terrorist group trying to overthrow Peru's government. The Inter-American Court of Human Rights was engaged in the struggle to get her released, and her parents fought like tigers to get her out, but it took 14 years. She was just released this May.

I don't see this looking very well for Joran either way... His life is in danger in there, and I think it would be in worse danger on the streets... He can't even be transported without being mobbed and tomatoes thrown at him...I can't imagine WHY he would want out..... Surely Peru will not grant him freedom before his trial...He has already proven that he is a flight risk..!!!

Maybe they should grant him the freedom he's so desparately seeking. Just to show good will they could fit him with a new pair of running shoes, escort him to the gates and send him merrily on his way. Let's see how far he gets.

<snipped for length>

Epafras and Joran

http://www.rnw.nl/english/article/dutch-media-attacks-peru-could-harm-prisoners

Dutch criticism of Peru’s treatment of Joran van der Sloot, the suspect in the Lima hotel murder case, could impact on other Dutch prisoners in the country. The warning comes from Epafras, an organisation that provides support for Dutch prisoners abroad.

The Peruvian authorities’ treatment of Dutch murder suspect Joran van der Sloot has come in for much criticism in the Netherlands. Every detail of the case has been widely reported, and Van der Sloot’s statements published in the press, with little respect for his right to privacy. The parading of suspects in front of TV cameras is anathema to the Netherlands, where suspects’ privacy is strictly maintained. Their full names and photos are always withheld in the media unless (like Joran van der Sloot, in fact) their identity is already widely known to the public.

I'm sick to death of hearing about how the Netherlands is complaining about how things aren't being handled according to THEIR rules. He didn't commit this crime in the Netherlands, he commited it in Peru. It makes no difference where the perp comes from, it only matters where he commited the crime and he has to play by their rules and pay the price according to that country. The Netherlands needs to STFU and butt out. IMO.

Thanks... I needed that...I just realized that I was beginning to answer my own questions... I need a break... maybe a trip to the pharmacy for some Aleve... :truce:

Welp, here we go again....I didn't think this would go smooth..but, I didn't expect it to go this deep...Guess I'll hike up my waders again...

Wasn't it his girlfriend that called him "wiggles" when he was much younger....I think she had him pegged....!!!!!!

Could this be his way of getting extradited to the US to get out of Castro Castro and LuriG?

I have really been trying to find within myself some drip of empathy for this woman, truly, but she just blows it away when I think I am there.
