FBI will dedicate up to six agents to help investigate the Kyron Horman disappearance

Exactly. And ironically, by buying the best lawyer in Oregon, Terri is ensuring that MSCO is going to build the most airtight case they can against her. They don't want to leave a single hole for Mr. Houze to poke through. If I were Terri, I'd be nervous, very nervous about now. They are still focusing on her, and they are going to make sure to put as many nails in her coffin as they can. It gives me more faith that they aren't rushing just to arrest her, and then have to let her go because Houze is able to produce enough reasonable doubt. Good for them. I am willing to wait and be patient if it means this woman goes to jail for the rest of her life.

Hi Asdrys, I hope TH comes to the forum here and feels a cold chill go right down her spine when she reads your post. Thanks

While searching for Kyron news for 2-24-11 (today), I ran across this. I'm not sure where this should go, but it's interesting:

This is from the article:

A potential new lead in the ongoing investigation into what happened to Kyron Horman, who disappeared from his school in Portland, Oregon eight weeks ago.

Did they mean to write eight months ago? Or is this an old article?

Yes, it is very interesting, wonder why no one else had this story?
WOW is right Clu. Thanks for that Dreamy Eye. It is interesting to me that the comments to that article are from August 2010. What is with that do you think?

I think the case is more complicated than we realize which is why the FBI team is in place now:

An IMO speculative theory:

* It could be something like they had a dog hit on a spot close to where TH's phone pinged {3 pings that I've read about} but found no remains there.
* It would explain why they have looked so ardently in several specific places and why they are confident they will solve the case and won't give it up.
* And also explain why Desiree now gives us her feeling that Kyron is dead. LE knows that, but they just don't know where his body is yet. They might have shared that with her - she gave us new info they are searching in a spot 11 miles east of the school + that they know TH was there, where they are searching now {hope that is worded correctly}.
* The FBI tightening up the placement of the pingS with a ping specialist from San Francisco - That is SO exciting and could only be to target in on the remains IMO. !!!

I am so encouraged tonight that Kyron will be found and brought home and that his abductor/killer will pay for what they have done.

Hi Eileen, I know they do update old articles sometimes. But here I think since the '8' is correct they put weeks instead of months and the proofer didn't catch it. IMO

Hi Clu, This article was originally from Aug 2nd but was updated Feb 16th.

They must have gotten a tip about those throw away cell phones, eh? We thought at the Skyline Rd and Moreland Rd search they were looking for evidence. How far is Moreland Rd from the school. Maybe they are giving an incorrect direction for the 11 miles on purpose.

We also know they did a ground search at Skyline and Germantown Rd and placed the Horman truck there at 10:30 am, right?

Sorry if this is OT, so I'm going over to the search thread. xox

That's what I think too, Scandi.

Oh, suddenly my hands are shakin' as things are seemingly coming together, explaining what LE is doing and why. And I definitely think Desiree's giving us the new info in her presser {only 5 days from the MCSO presser} was designed that way on purpose.

I think they want the person they suspect and the accomplice {if there was one} to start getting real nervous like. What a strategy by LE. :rocker:

This article is very confusing, as wasn't it about 8 weeks in when searchers did return to the area near Skyline and there were rumors that they might be searching for phones?

I don't know what to think here. But I am leaning toward thinking it is an old article that somehow surfaced. The comments after the article are all dated last August as well.

I'm guessing that from what Gates says here, a "semi-conclusion" would be if they think they know what happened but can't prove it?

I don't know what he meant. What he said could also mean that the investigation simply is stopped because they couldn't identify the perp (s) within the time/resources available. And, that they made their best effort, bringing the FBI to help. It happens.

Who knows?

Or maybe even if they never find Kyron but do press charges eventually. I guess to some, that would be a "semi-conclusion."

Now I'm thinking that the August article about the search for phones was revived because of the 2-24 news that the FBI is bringing in a cell phone expert. I can't think of any other reason for the media to bring up the August search.

That's possible...but most of the article itself, is old news, I'd say. 6 months old.

Hopefully, the FBI agents will take a good look at all the data and suggest a wider, more in-depth investigation of everyone involved.

I think semi-conclusion means that they won't find Kyron but will feel comfortable charging someone with a crime in relation to his case. I can't see them thinking the exhausting all leads and not being able to identify who was involved could be considered semi-concluded.

This was interesting too:

Last year, Staton said he had no evidence that Kyron was not alive. He declined Thursday to repeat that.

Hi Rosie, I still think a Human Recovery dog did a hit on Kyron's scent, where he had fallen for iinstance, and there was just no body. Staton not saying that is another reason this could be what has happened. Just thinking, my opinion.

I WONDER WHAT HAS MADE HIM SO CONFIDENT THAT HE ISNT WILLING TO REPEAT THIS STATEMENT?

COULD BE AS LITTLE AS THE PARENTS NOW EXPECTING THE WORSE OUTCOME AND LAST YEAR HE WASNT PREPARED FOR THEM TO BE GIVEN THAT KIND OF RESOLUTION.....COULD BE SOMETHING AS BIG AS EVIDENCE THAT CONFIRMS KRYON ISNT ALIVE ANY LONGER...

I KNOW IM KINDA STATING THE OBVIOUS HERE BUT, THAT STATEMENT JUST TOOK MY BREATHE.

I also wish the reporter had asked if Staton is standing by his earlier assertion they have found no physical trace of Ky. IDK. That latest search and DY's comment about "new, solid evidence" sure left me wondering.

As long as we're mining articles and interpreting what quoted statements might have meant, I just have to add this one, attributed to Staton. Note he says 'excessive' information, which I find enormously humorous being as I was a psychologist myself. And because it's late on Friday aftn:

""We've also hired one behavioral psychologist that is looking into and contributing excessive information to the background of this investigation and those that are involved."
