I'm glad they got busted though. I wonder if they were acting as pimps? If they were, then I really hope the charges stick. After reading about this case and the "boyfriends" of the victims, I feel nothing but contempt and disgust toward pimps.

thanks for posting. The tone of that entire article makes me sad and uncomfortable. While I don't think people should be afraid, I do think they should be aware. And I sincerely hope LE isn't just keeping quiet for the summer months as to not negatively impact tourism. These poor families need answers and the killer or killers need to be brought to justice.

Just a thought... Ocean Pkwy has 2 spots where you can legally go off roading (with a permit) on the beach. Another place that is known for off roading on Long Island (probably the best on the island) is over in Manorville.

Another popular place I know of is listed below...I wonder if this could be a dumping ground too? There are abandoned cars everywhere in these woods. God knows what else. Sorry guys, just had to get this off my chest.

After the Casey Anthony verdict yesterday, my mom said "This is why LE is being so careful in the Long Island serial killer case, they want to make sure they have a solid case." I sincerely hope that's true. This silence is rough but maybe it's for a good reason.

"Everyone should be looking into the girl who escaped from oak beach 6 years ago and was running down ocean parkway before being picked up by marine one&#8230;she had been drugged, sexually assaulted and claimed a group of men were trying to kill her!! This is fact!&#8217; she&#8217;s one that got away&#8230;docent anyone else find this disturbing that SCPD did nothing about this, how many newspaper articles have you read about this?"

Does anybody know if this was ever verified? Is this true? If it is, it sounds very familiar to Shannan Gilbert's situation, MOO.

I do believe it is indeed TRUE!!! I posted on here about 2 months ago that I was talking to my neighbor about the case. And he said his wife's friend and her husband were driving down Ocean Parkway "a couple of years ago" and there was a girl running out of the Oak Beach area screaming. It was pouring rain out and they pulled over to help her and someone else pulled over at the same time. The other vehicle wound up helping the girl and my neighbors friend didn't stay to find out what happened.

I tried to get additional information about when exactly it occurred and my neighbor said he wasn't exactly sure. He thinks it was about 2 or 3 years ago. But it could have been 6 years ago as well. He never really found out for sure.

I asked my neighbor if his wife's friend reported it back then or now to the police and he said No. I told him to call the girl and make sure she reports it. The next time I spoke with him he said that he called her and she said she was going to report it.

So I do believe what Flukeyou said is true. I am just not exactly sure about the timing of when exactly it happened.

I will talk to my neighbor again and see if I can get more information. I am going to ask if I can contact his wife's friend. And I will speak with his wife this time. She probably has more information.

I will keep you posted. Good Luck everyone. This quiet period is killing me. We need to get more info from LE!!!

Hi, Marie-Chantel. From another post, I think that poster was, for reasons unknown, trying to distinguish Marine1 from Marine2.

I do have some doubts about the poster. His aggressiveness and hodge-podge of old rumors and assertions make me hesitant to accept his word.
 
What is Marine2? Just like Goathairjones said, I think this is true, despite the strangeness of that poster. His/her story sounded plausible with the exception of the Marine 1 bit (unless he/she is not talking about the president's helicopter). If this is true, then I sincerely hope that LE has tracked this woman down and interviewed her extensively. I believe that the poster cited this incident as having occurred around 2005 or 06, but even if it was 2 or 3 years ago, it definitely fits in with the timeline for this killer(s) activities. I'd love to know whose house she escaped from.

Hi, Marie-Chantal, I assume that he is referring to a second Marine, perhaps also involved in the attack. I think that it is possible that the poster is recirculating neighborhood scuttlebutt, partly to defend his broad brush attack on the beach community as a center of mob mayhem. (My God, even old man Coletti is involved for providing fireworks for Gotti's Independence Day celebrations!)

That said, it's certainly possible that although the details are still garbled to us, that there was an attack and the importance of survivors of such attacks cannot be overstated: In a case like this, where forensics (at least from what we know) are limited, such testimony can be critical.

I'm still hoping that more can learned about the details of the doctor's phone call.

P.S. And to GoatHairJones for his very informative post about this incident. Thanks and I would not be too worried about not receiving much information from the police at this point. I think that serial killer investigations gather speed slowly before achieving critical mass. At least, that's what I'm hoping.
