Thanks, GGE. I went through your timeline and map today, and both are excellent. Thanks so much for putting in your time and effort to compile the information. Same for Lucky1's timeline. They're all great tools for WS'ers who want to search out possible IK victims.

... do you know: Is the "gap" between June and September meaning that Keyes is believed to have remained in AK during all that time, or are his whereabouts during that time just not fully accounted for?

Backwoods, what is posted on FBI timeline is where they have 100% placed him traveling, missing days or months so far remain he was un-accounted for...Hope this helps

Just want to point out a detail I missed on the UID from Stacyville, Maine that I believe could be related to IK:

Skeletal and decomposed remains. Hands missing.
Body conditions
Not recognizable - Partial remains with soft tissues

Under fingerprints it says "hands missing".....like two, thus no fingerprints. No other body parts missing.

They estimated decomposition to be 26 days. I don't believe the hands would detach in that amount of time. Neither do I think a wild animal would choose BOTH hands.

Curious IMO.

The Stacyville UID is a case I first heard of shortly after he was recovered before I ever found WS. My assumption is that this person was an adult who required constant care by a caregiver, probably due to being mentally disabled.


I say this because of the items he had with him (and how they were carried):

From NAMUS:
"Black 'High Sierra' nylon briefcase containing: empty bottles of Dasani Raspberry water, Poland Springs water, Cranberry Juice. Two spray cans of 'OFF' insect repellant, a brown sweater, size medium."

From NAMUS:
"White 'New Balance' Sneakers - Model 811, size 10EE"

So when I look at this, here's what my brain tells me: the shoes were New Balance, double E width (or, extra wide) and closed with velcro straps (look up the model online - they're available in both tie and velcro version - I'm certain I saw a news article that said these were velcro close but I guess I have to find a link to back this up - it's been years since I read this -ETA I just cannot find reference to the velcro straps now, ugh!), for one thing.

This screams of someone who has a disability of some kind (Grown adults don't wear velcro-close sneakers unless they have mobility issues in fingers, back, or feet the vast majority of the time, or else developmental disabilities - and New Balance is widely recommended by podiatrists and rheumatologists giving advice about feet - my source for this fact is that my mother in law did everything she could to avoid hip surgery and one thing she had to do on advice of her orthopedist was get New Balance sneakers.. and because I also have a podiatrist for my big toe bump (I hate the word "bunion") and she aosl reommended New Balance to me because they come so nice and wide and have great support).

Also the fact that he had with him a ton of juice/water, a sweater, and multiple cans of bug spray... all carried in what? A briefcase, of all things.

To me this sounds like a disabled person, mentally, with a caregiver who abandoned them or else died, leaving them to their own means... imagine the mindset of someone who decides they're going to set off on a walk in the woods and decides they require... well what would a parent say? Bring a drink, you have to have a drink. Bring bug spray, there will be lots of bugs. Bring a sweater, it might get cold..

So he brings a ton of juice boxes (only children drink these, they only have what like 6 ounces of liquid inside? maybe 4 ounces?)... a ton of cans of bug spray (severe lack of judgement/logic/reasoning/ability to reasonably plan ahead/ etc seems to be at work here).... and a sweater.


All IMO of course.

Now, how likely is it that this guy is one of Keyes' victims, all that aside? I guess that is the question alright.

Interesting observations about the New Balance shoes GGE. I wasn't aware of those things about them, but I haven't read anywhere that they were Velcro. Either way, they were a "walking shoe", come in black or white, tie or Velcro. Seems like a logical choice for a 50ish white male who walks and doesn't want "flash" sneakers IMO.

As far as him being mentally disabled and simply wandering off, it seems to me that someone or some government agency would start to miss him sooner or later. Stacyville is a small town, everyone knows everyone else, all their business.....even what color underwear you wear. He couldn't possibly be local, so how did he get up there? If he walked up there I will guarantee you someone would have seen or noticed him and put two and two together. There isn't that much to look at, anything unusual get noticed PDQ. :twocents:

Also noticed he is wearing it on his right hand. I'm right handed and wear my watch on my left wrist.

The guy we ran into on the trail had what appeared to be a pistol strapped to his left hip, covered with a small hand towel. In most of the bank robbery photos he his holding his pistol in his left hand. FWIW. Perhaps nothing.

I'm right handed and wear my watch on my right hand. I used to wear it on the left until maybe 15 years ago when I was bit by a dog thru my carpel tunnel on the left wrist. I switched sides at the time and just got used to it and never switched back.

He was right handed, right?

(I'm not getting to anything with these statements, but they'll probably lead somewhere later, just how I work.)

Looking at some bank robberies here and there....this could be IK...I think it would fit in the timeline this was in Albuerque on Oct. 13-2010....I'm still searching, I believe there may be other robberies in N.M. at this time also with masks

and this one just screams Keyes to me....A re-enactment of an earlier movie that all robbers wore presidential masks.....possible Keyes wearing Richard Nixon mask....also this robber is said to be very athletic jumping up on bank furniture and etc...very polite....but also suspected of being armed and dangerous------gosh I believe we have heard similar words before 1st robbery U.S.Bank on 11/25, then on to Los Angeles on Dec. 2-2009...The timeline has him unaccounted for, but found this odd to me

So I'm just jumping in here... I've done a ton of reading about Israel Keyes. He horrifies me, but as the victim of an attempted abduction in NC almost 20 years ago, I read about these creeps to be aware.

Anyway, here's a problem with IK and Lauren Spierer. IK has said that the Currier case (they disappeared less than a week after Lauren) generated more publicity than his prior crimes. However, the Spierer case was well-publicized from the beginning. I recall hearing about it, and I live in GA.

Obviously IK is not exactly a truth-telling boy scout, but I tend to believe him on this point. He flew under the radar and selected low media value victims, which is WHY he got away with so much for so long.

A timeline released by the FBI shows that in April 2005, Keyes was in Washington state and British Columbia. In July that year, two teachers were found murdered in Oregon's Willamette National Forest.

"It fits in that time frame," said Detective Sgt. Cliff Harrold of the Lane County Sheriff's Office. "It's one of the more recent cold cases that we have. It's a double homicide. We'd love to have it solved."

The FBI timeline says:

They were murdered on July 1, 2005.

This reeks of IK to me. I know they feel there is a marijuana connection, but IMO that doesn't exclude IK.
